Astonishing FEATURES and QUALITY for an amazing price!
So... If you're like me, rather a GEEK, the idea of NON-moving storage is very apealing. The fit-n-form of M.2 "sticks" has been something I've been experimenting with, toying with, etc. And yes, you can do SSD ( Solid State Drives ), and I do. But, it seems strange that M.2 sticks are not more often used for this. That's why I've been tinkering with enclosures for these, which; can allow them to work seriously. Enter the INEO M.2 SSD Enclosure. This device case/enclosure is VERY in-expensive, and; the team who created it - CLEARLY - had the end user in mind. It comes in a VERY NICE BOX. It comes with A MAGNETIC SCREWDRIVER ( and MAGNETIC SCREWS to match ... ); Being rather ... SENIOR ... I hate the micro print, but; the INSTRUCTIONS are clear -- IF -- you pause a bit, look at the pictures, and follow the simple "1", "2", "3" steps. It has a CARRY CASE for the thing. It has a COOLING FAN -- something I wanted because folks, if you're really doing a LOT with an M.2, it will get HOT - I mean REALLY HOT!. This M2 case takes care of it for you. The fan is WHISPER QUIET. It has a LIGHT which makes it CLEAR if it is working correctly. It has a blinky light that flashes when it is reading and writing. And for ME... It is BIG ENOUGH that I can spot it across the room! LOLOLOLOL! It works VERY, VERY WELL. For you who, like me, use Windows 10/11 -- you will need to use Computer Management -> Storage Management -- to FORMAT IT for the first use on a new M.2 Stick. But after that, "plug-n-play" is QUICK and RELIABLE. I give this a HUGE THUMBS UP and a HEARTY THANK YOU to the team who created this thing! ;O)

Be very carefull with the two micro screws, they get lost easily
I've used a 4 tb ssd in this, with so far no issues!

Excellent construction but with very tiny fasteners
The enclosure is made out of anodized aluminum and is hefty. The hexagonal design keeps it from rolling around. The light band on the fan end cycles through3 soft colors. There is a read/write activity light on the end where the cable plugs in. The light band would have made for a much more visible indicator of I/O activity. This would all be 5-star stuff up to this point. However, the assembly process could be much better. The case is in 2 pieces which are held together by very tiny (eye-glass-size) screws. A small screwdriver is provided in the box. These scews feed into what appears to be a nylon band. Nylon is tough stuff, but I would think aluminum might be a better choice or forego the screws altogether and come up with some kind of snap-on mechanism. There is one more screw to deal with internally. The M.2 drive is pushed into the connector. Make sure that it is all the way in. My first attempt allowed the unit to be recognized as a USB drive with 1 TB capacity but all I/O operations resulted in a "Fatal Hardware Error...". The kit comes with another small screw and tiny nut. You must feed then nut in from the underside through interface board, then through the M.2 board and then thread on a tiny nut. You do all of this while holding tension on the M.2 drive to keep it parallel with the I/O board. In addition, the nut is under an overhang created by the fan enclosure. Two suggestions for improved design immediately come to mind. Embed a threaded insert into the I/O board so that no nut is required. ALL motherboards have this feature, so there must be a way to do this. Secondly, extend the size of the assembly slight so that there is straight down access to the screw from above the M.2 mounting hole. My unit is plugged into a 10 yr. old USB 3 port and is providing solid 30 MB/sec transfer rates. When the last file is transferred, the transfer shuts down immediately unlike some USB drives which make you wait and wait for buffers to empty out (or whatever it's doing). I've backed up almost 300 MB of pictures, videos and document files --- all without a single glitch. The case became slightly warm to the touch at one point. The computer fan noise is much louder than the fan on this enclosure -- so I can't tell how much it is running (if at all). It was my hope to buy 1 or 2 additional M.2 drives and swap them in and out for future data and O/S transfers; however, the tiny hardware makes this a tedious process prone to losing screws. If your use case is to insert 1 M.2 drive and never remove it, then this product is highly recommended for its rugged design and excellent cooling.

Reads and writes very fast and has a quiet fan so it doesn't heat up. Nice!
I use it to store images of my hard drives. It reads and writes very fast and has a very nice and quiet fan. I don't use my other NVMe storage devices any more because they get hot, and two have already failed on me because of heat. In fact, I barely remember from my college EE classes that I took in the mid 20th century, that all semiconductors are degraded by heat. :-) Hope it helps.

Great SSD Enclosure ! Stays cool.
Bought this to go with the Samsung 990 EVO 2 TB drive that I purchased. Love that it's solid aluminium. Fan keeps it cool. I really don't hear the fan - practically noise less. You really have to read the instructions properly. I still think that I missed installing a thermal somewhere (maybe just an extra one). Great size with a pouch for carrying around.

Fantastic, the best quality USB Gen 2 NVMe enclosure (for now)
A really nice solid enclosure. I like it so much that I ordered the vendor's other similar adapter, with fan on top. You'll get 990-1000GB/s attained using the included Type-A to Type-C cable with or without the adapter. So few A to C cables handle 10bbps, but this one does - and flipped either way! I tried 10 other Type A & C cables, 6" to 3' and all worked fine (rates slightly diminished with length). Use absolutely good cables (the price you paid means nothing). Those that say the enclosure and/or cable (with or without the A-to-C adapter) does not allow for Gen2 speeds either: 1 - have a bad cable or enclosure (very unlikely) 2 - have a misunderstanding of Gen 2 ports, Type A or C (most likely, don't assume) Your PC Type C port MUST have Gen2 (10gbps) capability (don't assume, look for "10". Your PC Type A port MUST have Gen2 (10gbps) capability (don't assume). PC Type A Gen2 type ports usually have RED plastic inside the PC port (not sure this is a 100% rule). If your PC Type A port is blue it is most likely Gen1 (5gbps), don't wish otherwise. If your PC Type port is black it is most likely USB 2 (480mb/s), don't hope otherwise. Assuming your cables are good... Most any good modern PCIe 3.0 (4xLane) NVMe SSD will transfer near 900GB/s with large block sequential transfers, so your SSD is probably fine. If you get 400-500GB/s, you are plugged into a Gen1 port (period). If you get 50GB/s, you are plugged into a USB2 port (period). Any cable longer than 1M is usually going to give problems (but there are rare exceptions). 50% of cables longer than 1M give problems - poor manufacturing or improperly labeled as Gen2/10gbps. I have tested 20 cables and about 20 of these enclosures and all the enclosures were fine but half the cables were junk.

Fan doesn't work almost fried $500 drive.
I ordered 4 of these for something I am building and the included heat syncs and thermal pads are insufficient when the fan never turns on. I had 4tb gen 4 NVMe overheat.

The enclosure arived in an impressive package. Taking the enclosure itself looks very striking. It is well made with a lots of fins for optimal passive cooling. The enclosure weights a good amount as it's made of aluminum alloy for optimized passive cooling. Enclosure additionally includes a fan for improved airflow and active cooling. The enclure is easy to use with the included cables. It comes with a small screw driver to open the screws which give you access to the drive bay. However, this small screw driver is easy to get misplaced. And although the small screws are standard screws to be found at any electronics or hobby shop, they are very easy to drop and loose. Compared to the prevalent customer friendly tool free designs, this design is definitely old school and reduces ease of use. I purchased this enclosure for data transfer to and from a spare NVME SSD. However, I was highly disappointed with the results. The drive kept disconnecting from the laptop. Even after changing windows settings to 'Better Performance' for this enclosure, the connectivity drop-outs remained. I attribute this to the usage of outdated JMS583 chipset. At this price-point of $35 for this enclosure, there are much more advanced and better enclsures available that utilize latest chipsets providing better connectivity for comparable pricing. Although this enclosure was able to maintain my drive to a cooler temperature even at high usage, given the dropouts I had to return the enclosure. This enclosure has the capability to be a decent, if not great, enclosure. But it needs refinement. Unfortunately, given the outdated chipset resulting in connectivity issues and old design reducing ease of use, I am unable to recommend this enclosure.
