I recently switched my dog to the compounded version of Pimobendan, in an effort to try and save a little $. The new pills are tiny, just barely 5mm. , and my regular clam style pill splitter wasn’t doing a very good job. Decided to give this one a try, and it’s working out much better. I have to really take my time, and apply even pressure when I press down to cut the pill, but it’s worth the effort. Sometimes I still end up with a few crumbs, but I just use a pill pocket to pick them up. The name brand pills were quite a bit bigger, and even though they were flavored, I still had a hard time getting my dog to chew them up. Now he’s happy to get his tiny 1/2 pill treat twice a day!Also, because theses pills are so tiny, I can cut the pill pocket into 4ths, which also saves money.

My first pill cutter. I was told not to expect much, that it's difficult to get them perfectly in halves. When I first got it I was concerned that my little pill type wouldn't fit and it would just crush it. Sure, I read the details here but it didn't look obvious to me what it did. I found the little slider held everything perfectly and just snapped it into place. Two perfectly cut halves, no dust that I could see. I loosen the slider and bump it on my desk a bit to slide the pill halves out of place and just keep them in the sides until I need them. It's a small thing but I appreciate it very much. Haven't tried it with anything bigger. I'm sure that would be a satisfying crunch lol.

Awesome pill splitter. It can cut even the tiniest pills in half without any issues. I have tried many different pill splitters over the years, but could never find one that could split the extremely tiny .5 mg tablets into equal halves. With every other pill splitter one side would always end up bigger than the other or the pill would crush into a powder. This pill splitter always gives a perfect split on even the tiny pills. I highly recommend it.

I've cut over 100 round 10mm wide pills and this device which has worked better than any I've tried up to this point. Perfect cuts, very minor residue if any, and fairly simple to use. You can only do one pill at a time but the dual blades really make for a clean cut. You just need to get the feel for the top lid pressure, I put my whole palm on the lid and gently push down for a clean snap every time. I'd almost give this 5 stars since it's so easy to use but it does have a quirk with getting your pill set in the "V" and then sliding the bar back to lock it into place, By the time you get the lid on (since this part tends to move the pill sometimes) you may need to readjust the pill with the locking tab once more (very minor gripe though). This is a "slow and steady" pill cutting process and it produces flawless perfect splits for me every time but If you need to cut a lot of pills, you may want to get one of the splitters that does 4-6 pills at once instead though.

I have to split a small oval pill in fourths for my dog. I used a different splitter for many years, Equalsplit, ( still works great) but it was getting hard for me to get 4 equal pieces. This cutter does an excellent job getting almost 4 equal pieces. I make the first cut on the short side, and then use a toothpick to rotate the two pieces on the long side for the last cut. It is getting faster, but still takes some time. I will see how it holds up over time.

Based on past experience trying to cut pills that don’t have an impression line for splitting, I was prepared to be disappointed! Surprisingly it actually does work. It has an adjustable silicone guide to hold the pill in place while pressing down on the top that holds the cutting blade. I noticed a little give when the two pieces make contact so I was careful to set the pill firmly and close the top with slow, even pressure. I cut one pill at a time. Very helpful device.

I previously purchased a pill splitter that created a lot of powder. I purchased the EQUADOSE Cutter vs 2 and it works great. I have to cut my pet's medicine in half and was looking for one that would provide a clean cut. This one works and is just what I needed.

Cuts quite well, but arduous process. Cutting a pill in half works, clean cut. But I need to cut certain pills in quarters: to cut that pill in half yet again is very difficult. You need nimble fingers to position the half cut pill. I'll keep this cutter because of the accurate cuts. There are several steps needed to place, cut and extract the pill.
