Excellent Support Without Bulk – Great for Sports or Recovery
I bought the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer after a mild sprain from trail running, and it’s been a game-changer for both support and confidence. It fits securely inside my running shoes without feeling bulky, which is a major plus compared to other braces I’ve tried. The lace-up design with figure-eight straps gives it a snug, customized fit. Once it’s on, it really locks the ankle in place, reducing side-to-side movement without limiting my range of motion too much. I’ve worn it for hiking and lifting, and it stays put—even during sweaty workouts.Pros:• Feels stable but not restrictive• Slim enough to fit in most shoes• Durable stitching and high-quality Velcro• Washable (I hand-washed it and air-dried with no issues)Cons:• Takes a minute to lace up properly• Sizing runs a bit small – I’d size up if you’re on the borderAfter about 2 weeks of daily use, I noticed less swelling and more stability during activity. I’ve already recommended this to a teammate recovering from a rolled ankle. Whether you’re recovering or just need support for weak ankles, this brace is well worth it.

Not quite right for my duck feet
I got this one with regular laces after reading another review noting that the laces are more versatile for dealing with swelling, versus the elastic Velcro laces. I measure small, just 11.25" on my "good" ankle but my injured ankle varies with swelling from 11.5 to 12" and even bigger. I bought both Medium and Small then, to see what fit better. The medium required me to lace it up as tight as it would allow and the laces then dangled very long-- like, I could step on them. The bottom of the bootie under my foot was really bunched up. I sent the M back. The small had to be laced up fairly loose, leaving about the amount of laces across the top like any pair of laced shoes, and the length left to tie the bow was short, leaving no dangling lace. The parts that support the ligaments, the X parts, are snug and feel very comfortable and supportive. But, my foot still swells a lot when I try to be on my feet, so I am not able to tolerate the brace longer than a couple hours. I have to loosen it even more which leaves me with it not fitting, needing the length of the medium laces. The boot still puckers a little on the bottom/back. When I took the brace off after two hours my foot has deep imprints from swelling. Not sure if it's just the shape of my foot, but I am thinking I'll try another brand and see it it works better for me.

VERY stabilizing
This is a VERY sturdy ankle brace. I bought it because after an orthopedic ankle surgery, my doctor told me I would need to start wearing one after my air cast was done. I got this one and WOOO. It feels more secure than the air cast. I took it to physical therapy and the physical therapist even said, "that's the most secure brace I think I've ever seen". Unfortunately, it's also a pain to put on and take off during physical therapy and with all the Velcro the whole gym hears me. I think I will get an easier one to remove for PT but this is definitely a daily driver for walking, sports, ect.

Like the stability
Ordered it as a replacement for older brace. I like the stability it gives my ankle.

Materials and craftsmanship are very solid.
Have owned a figure 8 ankle brace for the last 43 years, and this one is as good if not better than any of them.If you need great support and this is the style of brace you want, then just get this one. Materials and craftsmanship are solid. This should last me for many years and provide the level of support I need.

Great ankle support
This works great. I have significant soft tissue damage on my ankle including torn tendon and ligaments interior/exterior or ankle. I can tell the difference of if I only put my sneaker on and not the brace. I highly recommend if you need additional support.

Comfortable and works great
I sprained my ankle playing basketball (again), and decided I just need to wear a brace whenever I play. I bought this and it has helped tremendously. It doesn't feel bulky at all. I don't even really notice that I'm wearing it other than it makes me feel more stable.
