Fun to play, great quality

I purchased 5 of these for each family households (2 or more players) for Christmas. We then played online Zoom call. It was so much fun trying to solve. Game took about 2.5 hours. Some players were really aggressively searching clues. At the end we celebrated solving. Now each household has to pass allow to their friends.

little to easy to solve but great fun with the family

Me and my wife don't have a lot of experience with mysteries outside of video games, and while we did have a lot of fun playing this for two to three hours, found it a bit too easy. Out of the five "people of interest", it was very obvious that only two actually mattered. Furthermore, hints were repeated multiple times in various pieces of evidence, so sometimes we'd stop to discuss a deduction we made only to have it said explicitely to us by another piece of evidence later. So it felt a bit like the game was doing the thinking for us.But overall, it was fun piecing everything together and figuring out whodunnit. The various pieces of evidence and documents are all themed appropriately and really made us feel like we're solving a cold case murder, it's just that I wish it was a bit more challanging. Also, since we didn't need to write or change anything about the product, we can regift it ourselves. So yeah.

I ordered this for my boyfriend and I to have an activity to do together. It required a lot of reading and concentration, but it was quite fun. I hope to buy more in the future, I just wish that they weren't so expensive.

I purchased this game to play with my family on vacation, a group of 6 adults and 2 kids (8 &12). I didn't really know what to expect, I'd seen these games and heard of the idea before, but no one really went into detail on how the game is played and I think I had unrealistic expectations. The whole game is reading a story, in many different formats. We spent about 3 hours, and 90% of that was just reading aloud the notes, crime reports, witness reports, and news articles. You are given a lot of information and it can be overwhelming, but it is helpful to make your decision. Honestly, we didn't actually start enjoying this until the last 30 minutes or so and still couldn't get everyone on the same page, so we just went with the majority guess. Honestly, I think we would have enjoyed playing other board games or watching a crime show/movie more, but you never know until you do right? The kids lost interest within the first 10 minutes, so I definitely wouldn't recommend for anyone young or who has trouble focusing. I think this would be better for 1 or 2 people, who know what they're getting into and are willing to take the time to read everything in depth. I do kind of wish there was a way you could get multiple potential endings/murderers, because now I just have this game I played once and I can't really play again, but maybe I'll gift it to someone else. Overall, the price wasn't bad and they did a great job of organizing valuable information in a realistic fashion - it just wasn't for me personally.

My family and I acted as the VSPD Cold Case team and for a couple of hours we had a GREAT time playing who done it! This game is very in-depth with old news paper articles, crime scene photos, medical reports, maps, etc. If you love true crime and want an engaging night with family or friends, this game is for you. BE FOREWARNED! This game will take a bit of time to get through, but that just adds to the fun of having people follow their theories!
