Love! Works great and is now a staple of our career.

I used an entry-level stethoscope for over 10 years since graduating from nursing school. After it finally gave out from all the frequent use, I decided to upgrade to the 3M Littmann Master Cardiology Stethoscope—and I’m so glad I did! The difference is amazing. If you know what to listen for, you can hear everything from heartbeats and valve closures (like mitral, tricuspid, aortic, and pulmonary) to the swishing sound of heart murmurs, lung sounds like wheezing, pleural rubs, crackles, and even abdominal gurgling. Auscultation is such a valuable tool in patient care, and this stethoscope really makes a difference! Highly recommend it.

I originally ordered a Littmann Classic III; however, it was “misplaced” in skills lab during my first semester of nursing school. I had trouble hearing clearly with my Classic III, but I wasn’t sure if it was because it was poor acoustic performance, an issue with hearing loss on my end, and/or just poor skill. After doing research, I opted to purchase this stethoscope and holy cow… the difference in night and day! Although pricey, I would recommend this stethoscope because the acoustics are top-notch! It’s helped me differentiate sounds and I no longer had problems auscultating during skills lab or clinicals. Just be sure to keep it on you at all times so it doesn’t “grow legs.”P.S. I purchased a lock for my lab bag to prevent “misplacement” of my investment during class. Definitely recommend doing that as well.

This is my 2nd master cardiology. My first is still alive and kickin after probably 6-7 years of daily use. I only got a new one because I had CME money to burn. This is hands down the best sounding stethoscope I have used in 15+ years of being in medicine.

A better stethoscope than my Master Classic however I still feel like I have a hard time hearing distant and muffled breath sounds, difficult heart sounds (its a cardiology stethoscope??) yes it might be understandable for the situation however I felt like this stethoscope costing almost $200 should have really had exceptional hearing from me as a professional. I am going to consider looking at other brands besides littman next time. I am truly convinced NO ONE makes anything to last anymore and they definitely are not concerned with quality. A shame really !!
