lovely and proctical little ladder for home use. the plus is it is light and compact, I intend to stain it and use it as step ladder in our library, it is attractive enough to keep out like a piece of furniture. The down side is it is rated Type 3, for use by persons up to 200#s see chart;DescriptionType 1AA Ladder 375 lb. Extra-heavy-duty industrial ladderType 1A Ladder 300 lb. Light-duty household laddersince I bought this primarily for my wife and daughter I am not concerened, I can assure you I cant use it.but that said once stained and finished it will I am sure be of great assiatnce around the house.

Our bedroom has 2 large skylights on a sloped ceiling. The skylights are nice, but after our first summer here, they let a lot of heat in in the summer and I'm sure would loose a lot of heat in the winter. I built some covers myself that are insulated and removable. I determined a 4' ladder would be the right height to reach the skylights to take the covers on and off. Unfortunately, the selection of 4' ladders locally was nil and the one I found was aluminum and not nice looking to be in a bedroom. I wanted a wood ladder I can stain to match our bedroom furniture, but I found most wood ladders are "decorative" and not suitable to actually use as a ladder. This was a surprisingly hard product to find actually! The ladder was shipped without packaging (surprising to say the least) but it wasn't damaged at all, so I'm happy there wasn't unnecessary trash for the landfill associated with this order. It seems like a sturdy ladder, seems to open and close easily enough and is the perfect height for my needs. Also appears to be raw wood, so will likely accept a stain easily and will look much nicer as a permanent fixture in our room than a regular aluminum ladder. Hardware is not removable, so I will have to stain and seal around it, but it shouldn't be too big of a deal.
