Revision - a long saga
My wife and I both bought these units because they were said to interface with the Orangetheory Fitness (OTF) system and for 15 months they did. Then one day mine refused to, although all external signalling during charging and use were still correct. I was not happy with 15 months of service but wanted to have a monitor so I submitted a 3 star review to Amazon and ordered another. To my amazement Adam, the president of Powr Labs reached out to me with an expressed willingness to replace the unit or send me a refund or whatever I thought would make things right. I told him I'd already ordered another but mentioned that my wife's was still working correctly and I'd let him know how the new one worked. It didn't work - same problem - so I sent it back for a replacement. By this time I was starting to get suspicious that the problem was not with the armband at all but with Orangetheory. So I began an email exchange with their HQ.My suspicions were heightened when the replacement from Amazon didn't work either and when Orangetheory said that their system was designed to work only with their own armband or an Apple. They were further heightened when I thought of trying to establish a direct Bluetooth connection between my armband and my phone. Connection was immediate. Then I tried connecting the armband to my laptop and connection was again immediate. But it would not connect to the Orangetheory app on that same phone.I knew that if their claim about restricted connectability was true at all it had just been MADE true by a revision of their software. There was just one more conflict to be resolved. I reminded HQ that my wife's armband still worked. Well, they were able to "fix" that! By the next class hers quit working also.By this time I was just plain angry. Orangetheory, by leading me to believe that my Powr Labs armband had died, had led me to throw away what was probably a perfectly good unit. Furthermore they had forced me to return what was, no doubt, a perfectly good unit from Amazon for no good reason. They were obviously trying to blackjack us (and everyone else) to buy their unit, which costs twice as much and has half the guarantee. Not going to happen!I had been keeping Adam at Powr Labs posted on this whole process and wondered if it wouldn't be possible for his team to produce their own app so we could monitor our performance on their app instead of on the boards at OTF. I said I was mainly interested in heartrate because I'd already established my target heartrate at OTF and just wanted to be able to get up to it during each session. He came back with the suggestion that I download the Wahoo Fitness app, which will interface to his (and our) armband. So I tried it and it works. I can get the heartrate but none of the other information I can get with a full OTF connection. Nevertheless, I'm content to be able to monitor my heart.I should say in closing that although I have only contempt for the OTF policymakers, I'm very happy with our coaches in the local studio here in Chico, CA.

Great! Simple As That.
For someone who has never used a heart rate monitor before, it can take some time in figuring out how to properly use this. Once you've figured it out though, it does do the trick. And it really is a great heart rate monitor.Easy to charge, two bands included, and it synced with the app in use just fine.

Worked great, stopped charging after 3 months
It was great till it stopped charging about three months after I got it :(Before that it was fantastic but I had HR monitors for $20 that broke that quickly - at a higher price point I expected better.Updating to add two stars as the company is sending me a replacement when I contacted their support about this.Still not a 5* item because apparently keeping it in my bag turns it on which must be what drained the battery (to the point where it couldn’t charge anymore). Also this is my second one - I lost the first one when I accidentally lost it when taking off a jacket - I think if the arm band was elastic, it likely would not have come off.

High praise for the Powr Labs Bluetooth HRM
I’ve had a great experience with the Powr Labs Bluetooth HRM. I was looking for something to replace my Peloton chest strap HRM, which was cumbersome, uncomfortable and inaccurate. The armband HRM from Powr Labs is an ideal solution for my needs, and I expect many other people as well. It’s easy to connect to Peloton via Bluetooth. The heart rate readings are very close to my Apple watch, whereas the Peloton chest strap readings were very different. So the consistency is key. I also have not experienced any dropouts in the readings with the Powr Labs HRM, unlike the Peloton chest strap, which dropped out all the time. The battery life is also a plus. I’ve been using it pretty much every day for a month without charging it, and the battery is still above 60%.I don’t normally write reviews on Amazon, but this HRM from Powr Labs has had such a positive impact on my ability to track heart rate and output during workouts. So simple but very effective and really helpful for me. I hope the same for you.

A spectacular piece of crap
Wow what a joke this is I tried like six apps... The apps they give you in the instructions two of them don't even exist anymore. There is not a native app for this product you're out there in the market with just whatever cycling app might accept this device. I got two out of the six apps to connect to the device but they would not pass any data. You're better off taking a $50 bill into your backyard and burning it I will be overjoyed to throw all the packaging and this device into the trash.

Good product

Too soon failed.
Bought in January, 2023 and has worked well until now, April, 2025. I used it regularly, about two one-hour cycle spin and cycle road sessions per week paired with the Wahoo smartphone app. However, lost charging lights two weeks ago and now totally dead. So I am rating it two stars due to short longevity. Ordered a new, different brand today.
