I make my own rigs for saltwater fishing, strong enough to bring in big fish with no problem.

I always have a spool of 20# and 30# AFW nylon coated wire in my tackle box.I make long light weight leaders with this stuff at home using leader sleevesand swivels and snaps.BUT I also make special use leaders on the fly in the boat.Say I'm fishing walleyes with a crank bait, but the freakin' northerns keepbiting and snipping my lures off, and I don't have any of my pre-made leaders.Easily solved if you have this AFW wire, a needle nose pliers, and a buddywith a lighter, and some sort of "post" (like a pen, screwdriver etc).I cut about 24" of the wire; double back about 3" of one end making a loop.Hold the tag end and the wire with the pliers, and stick a pen/whatever intothe loop and turn it 5-7 full rotations.Now while holding both ends of the loop tightly, CAREFULLY run theflame of the lighter over all the wire coils until the nylon melts together(if the nylon starts bubbling, stop immediately!). If you bubble too muchof the nylon, you'll have to snip it all off and start again.Snip the tag end sticking out off with the wire cutter on the pliers.Then I put my rapala on the other end of the wire and double over 3" again.Repeat the previous process, but this time your lure is on the loop.Tie/snap the wire loop onto your fishing line and let them northerns tryto snip the AFW wire! I don't THINK so. The wire loop gives your rapalagreat freedom to wiggle and wobble around, and the black wire is invisibleenough the walleyes don't seem to see it. AND those blasted slimersaren't stealing your favorite (and expensive and limited quantity) rapalas.

Die oftmals zu findenden Aussagen von sog. "Profis" und "Experten" auf YouTube bezüglich Materialstärke, Flexibilität und Färbung sind faktisch falsch!Das Produkt ist zweifelsohne gut. Es ist stabil und ordentlich verarbeitet und die angegebenen Tragkräfte sind auch realistisch. Allerdings ist es nicht annähernd so dünn wie behauptet (angeblich 1/3 dünner als vergleichbares Material anderer Hersteller) und unauffällig gefärbt.1. Materialstärke:Im direkten Sichtvergleich des 9Kg ummantelten 1x7 Stahl von AMF zu meinem fast 15 Jahre alten 9,1Kg ummantelten 1x7 Stahl von Drennan ist das AMF schon mit bloßem Auge erkennbar deutlich dicker. Dieser Unterschied ist auch mit den Fingern spürbar.2. Unauffällige Färbung:Bei dem braun ummantelten Stahl von AMF ist das Stahl selbst - ganz im Gegensatz zu den Aussagen in den Werbevideos - nicht bräunlich eingefärbt sondern knalle silber!!! Das einzige Bräunliche hieran ist die Kunststoffumantelung, durch welche jedoch der silbrige und auffällige Glanz des Stahls deutlich durchschimmert und im Sonnenlicht reflektiert - das zB. ist bei dem vergleichbaren Material von Drennan nicht der Fall.3. Geschmeidigkeit:Das Material ist - im Vergleich zu all meinen anderen bisher genutzten ummantelten Vorfächern - um Einiges steifer und überhaupt nicht flexibel und geschmeidig. Wer genau diese Eigenschaft sucht, ist bei AMF sicherlich richtig aufgehoben. Ich persönlich sehe hier wieder nur den Widerspruch zu den Werbeaussagen.Fazit:Wer dieses Material nur kauft, weil irgendwelche "Promi-Angler" wie Uli Beyer, Mr. Pike & Co. dieses anpreisen, sollte sich vllt selbst sein eigenes Bild machen und bei anderen namhaften Mitbewerbern nachsehen. Ich für meinen Teil bin enttäuscht, denn es hält definitiv NICHT, was es verspricht.

I use this product to restring my cut off wire tools for pottery throwing. The line is very smooth and strong and glides under the thrown pots very well without removing very much clay between the pot and throwing bat. Line is easy to work with and holds tying knots well on the tools. Last a long time before needing replacing.
