Nice Throttlepack for Older G Scale Train Set
Just received this MRC 9900 Throttlepack as a replacement for starter LGB transformer for an older analog LGB train set. I had added a motor driven sound tender to the starter set which overloaded the basic transformer in the starter set. This transformer is a great alternative for our small G scale loop under the Christmas tree with a couple of nice features, the momentum and braking options. The set up is easy enough although I did initially connect the wires to the track side of the plug incorrectly so no dc power was sent the track, my bad, but it was a quick fix. There is a small switch under the unit that needs to be checked to make sure it is in position for G scale operation. Outside of that the unit appears to work well with our analog train. I understand that this throttlepack may not work with some digital sets but I have no experience in that area. I do like the momentum feature where the train starts slowly and has an extended rolling stop comparable to a real train (along with the added braking option). Both of these work nicely with our set so it is a nice addition to have in place. I am hoping this will be a long lasting piece in our Christmas train set.

Five Stars
Works well and seems to have ample power. The Momentum feature seems to work well too.

Excellent product, somewhat bulky and pricey
I was fed up with cheap controllers, and the lower price MRC Railpower 1370 was out of stock everywhere I looked so I decide to go upscale. The 9900 provides smooth acceleration and decelleration thanks to the momentum and braking features, and allows running trains at very low speed. It has high enough amperage to run LGB. I am running HO. It is the size of a large brick, which takes up space on a conrner of my 4 x 8 layout, but otherwise I am very pleased

Cheesy power supply!
Feels cheaply made. Power cord does not fit snuggly on to mating plug of the unit. Ended up using spare cord from old pc. Cheesy instructions.

Very powerful DC supply. I operate 6 O gauge dc locos at a time. No problem. HO you can run more.
I didn't care for the AC power cord, it is way too bulky. I rather have a permanent attached cord like most supplies.
