Bad item
I order this item and when I received it and decided to unwrap it it’s cracked pretty bad on the bottom. I email the company and provide them with pic as well and still didn’t hear from them as yet. This scare me away from ordering anything else on line for so much of money to be at risk. Seems like this item been sitting for a little by time too cause the leather looks like it be starting to peel off soon. Ever regret buying this item and will take this issue further if I don’t hear back from them.

Worth the Cost: Edited 2018
We purchased this piece of furniture last November after researching every single fainting couch, chair-and-a-half, and side chaise we could find. This piece cost over one thousand dollars, but it was a bargain compared to the 500-dollar piece we bought in 2010 (that died a quick death). This lounge has been in our home for four months now and has worn well. It does not have small pieces of wood supporting the seat; instead it has very strong pieces of metal bound in an arc "against the butt," for a lack of a better word (convex?). The wood border is very pretty, and the leather finishing is well-applied. It looks very nice, holds up against big butts, and people think it is expensive-looking.In all honesty, I would recommend to anyone looking to buy a reclining piece or fainting couch to spend the extra money. We had one of the cheaper pieces available on Amazon, and it died after three years. By the time we let it go, it was a sad excuse for a broken, life-sized Petri dish of a mess.I would buy more from this set.UPDATE FALL 2018: The springs from this piece of furniture are holding strong! I am pleased at this. The problem, however, is with the finish. We have leather furniture from 2000 that has managed to keep its finish deep and dark, with the exception of kitty scratches. This piece has not. The right-hand arm has started peeling as if the finish is not really leather. It looks like pleather, to be honest. We will not be buying more pieces from this collection. If you choose to buy a pieces from this collection, you will be pleased with its strength, but you may find the finish peels, as our has in the last few months. We paid over one thousand dollars for a finish that did not last two years. Beware.
