Stop using your heavy torque wrench for small, light torquing!
Excellent product, and a perfect supplement to my larger manual torque wrench. That's for heavy torque jobs, and this is perfect for the smaller, lighter work.

Great addition to any DIY mechanic tool set!
I've used this for a few jobs now, and it's worked perfectly! It's great for basic car repair jobs, most recently I used it to to reinstall my BMW's valve cover manifold bolts to the right torques without a single snap. I've had it for close to year and it works just like the day I bought it, and still on the original battery. I originally got it ensure I wasn't overdoing it on spark plugs, and having swapped several sets of plugs on several different cars over the past year.. I have no complaints. It seems pretty solidly built, but does have lots of warnings about not twisting the plastic casing. Setting and using is easy, and there's two modes peak & trace. "Peak" basically amounts to displaying the max torque you applied, so you can stop wrenching; while "trace" lets you know the real-time torque being applied instantaneously while you're watching the display.

Saved the day
We were working on replacing our motorcycle clutch and none of the torque wrenches we have/borrowed would work in the range we needed e.g. 7-9 ft-lb. We over-did it and broke a bolt in the clutch basket which set us back. We compared ACDelco and other competitors product and decide to go with a name brand for reliability reason. We don't want to waste time playing with cheaper brand and get frustrated. It turned out to be good decision. We were able to set it down to the decimal point and put together the clutch in no time and with confidence. The motorcycle runs great now. Very happy with the product.

Excellent Tool. Wrong Shape.
My thoughts break down into two general areas: form and function. Function first. The tool does exactly what it is supposed to do. For that i love it. I don't need to worry about not hearing the "click click click" in a noisy setting. I can watch the screen. I haven't really had a problem seeing the readout in tighter space, and haven't needed an alarm. But this could be because it doesn't really fit in tight spaces. More on that below. I like that the screen holds the max torque applied since last reset. Also, sometimes specs are given in N/m, other times it is ft/lb, etc. Hit a button and i don't need to be doing conversions while i am focused on other things. It is simply great. Now form. It is bulky, bulbous. Not slender like a wrench, which is designed that way for a reason. I use this thing on cars. I assume that is where 99% of its use will be for most. When you are trying to get a narrow ratchet in a tight spot, around housing and hoses, this thing's design is all wrong. I bought it because it is about 1/2 the price of ACDelco's digital torque wrench (see ACDelco ARM601-3 3/8-inch Digital Torque Wrench (2-37 ft-lbs) .) In hindsight, what I probably should have done was get this in the 1/2" for torquing out lug nuts and other things, being that 1/2 drivers don't usually see the same tight spaces, and use the torque wrench for 3/8" and 1/4".

I stripped a few threads on a motorcycle I'm rebuilding ...
I stripped a few threads on a motorcycle I'm rebuilding and didn't understand why. I bought this to double-check my Harbor Freight "click" style torque wench, and it turns out that thing was way out of spec. (10 ft/lbs or more). I tossed the HF wrench and use this now. No issues. As other commenters have said, the setting is not intuitive, but you can figure it out quickly enough. If you remember that the three abbreviations (S,P,T) on the display are for the three modes Set, Peak and Trace, you should be OK. I wrote those three words on the case and have not given it much more thought. The only complaint I have is that I have a tendency to "overshoot" the set torque, so I tend to set it 0.5 ft/lb low, and then rotate the display towards me once I get to that level for the final bump.

Good range- Covers all low torque fastners on my car.
This reviewv is for AC Delco 3/8 inch torque adaptor. The range is 3- 59 ft-lb. The adaptor came with a calibration sheet which gave me confidence regarding the accuracy. I also checked it's reading against my click type torque wrench and they do agree well. This adaptor goes as low as 3 ft-lb which means it covers the lowest torque fasteners on my car. My spark plugs require 12-14 ft-lb and it is covered. Some 10 mm bolts on aluminium parts call for 6 ft-lb which are also covered. On the high end, the maximum 59 ft-lb covers 99% fasteners on my car. This adptor cannot be used for high torque bolts, such as, the wheel lugs (79 ft-lb), 19 mm engine body brace bolts (134 ft-lb), can shaft timing pulleys (94 ft-lb), generator pulley (81 ft-lb). Many suspension fasteners are also outside the range for this adptor. Most brake fasteners are within range; however, if you want to replace the rotor, the the hub bolts are outside the range at 79 ft-lb. In summary, you cannot find a digital torque adaptor or a torque wrench that can cover all the fastners around the car. However, the good thing about this adptor it covers as low as 3 ft-lb which will take care of all the low torque fastners. For high torque fastners, I use the adptor to calibrate/check my high torque wrench at 50 ft-lb, then I use my high torque wrench.

It seems the torque adapter I received in March 2021 had been sat on the shelf for a long-time. The Certificate of Calibration was from 2010! Not sure whether this was a missprint or it actually is from that long ago, but it raises questions as to whether the accuracy of this adapter can be trusted straight out of the box. For the price I paid I'd expect a more uptodate calibration.

I'm awful at over torquing and this is a great cheap add compared to other wrenchs and a life saver when working on cars.
