Excellent utility everyday-carry knife/multitool
I'll admit the Kershaw Select Fire knife/multi-tool is a little bulkier and heavier than I was expecting, but I've gotten used to it quickly. The blade out-of-the-box is wicked-sharp and seems to be holding an edge well, plus it's of a size big enough for serious cutting. Love how easy it is to open one-handed, and I have very small hands. Plus the bit/screwdriver part is amazingly useful and well-constructed. One thing I like is unlike my other multitool, a Leatherman Wave, which I use for more serious projects, the Select Fire takes standard hex bits. I'm already thinking about exchanging the included smaller Phillips bit for a torx. Even if not, as long as I have the extra bits with me or in my toolbox, I won't have to go hunting for a bit-driver for simple jobs.My previous everyday carry-knife used to be a Leatherman Juice, but honestly besides the knife, the only other tools on it I needed often were the screwdrivers -- and those were a total bear to open, even with regular lubrication. I suspect the joints just get tighter over time, but it's so bad now, I need a screwdriver just to get the Juice's screwdriver bits out.I honestly don't know what the longer-term durability will be for this Kershaw, but the low price (which I got as part of a Lightning Deal here, along with free Prime shipping) simply could not be beat. Even if it only lasts a few years, I'll likely get more daily use out of it than all my other knives and multitools combined.(Update: 1/27/13: The more I've carried this knife, the more indispensable it's become. We moved in the last couple of months, and having this knife with me at all times has been a total life-saver. "Oh, I need a screwdriver to take apart and/or assemble this... no problem!" If I lost it, I'd absolutely buy a replacement ASAP. Oh, and by the way? That slot where the bit-holder fits when closed works well as a bottle opener.)(Update 11/14/14: I still have the same knife, and still carry it every day, usually tucked into the front pocket of my jeans. The blade has needed sharpening a few times over the nearly two years I've owned the Kershaw 1920 Select Fire Multi-Tool, and the bits look just a tad tarnished, probably from perspiration -- but everything still works. By the way, when the hinge is properly lubricated, I have had no trouble at all opening the blade one-handed. The screw driver bits have come in handy more times than I can count, and even the hex bit holder can be used on appropriately sized nuts. Easily the best sub-twenty buck knife I've ever owned and if I ever lose it, I'll buy another. Fortunately, it's never been more than occasionally misplacing it. It's true, I do wish Kershaw had a slightly sturdier model available, and I'd gladly pay more for it if they did. But I've never regretted buying this one.)

One of the best EDCs for the $
Probably one of the best knives money can buy. The blade is fine quality and good for an everyday carry, where this little guy excels is the screwdriver/bottle opener/standard bit design. I’ve whipped this knife out and fixed things on the fly and I’ve had other guy friends go “Oh shoot, I need one of those.” Then they actually go buy it. I know like 4 other guys that have this knife and I’ve purchased 2 for myself already. Thinking of cerakoting one in flat dark earth, that would be cool. Kershaw if you’re listening, more colors!

Useful and durable high quality.
I'm an industrial service tech. Sometimes I walk around to see what a problem is before I decide which tool kit I need to fix it. Industrial cabinets and electrical boxes always have some type of screw holding them closed. With this always in my pocket I can always get into whatever I need. I'ts not the best tool for the job to be sure except for the old saying " the best tool for the job is the one you have with you".This tool has saved me miles and miles of walking back to the shop to fetch a screwdriver. That alone makes it a 5 star device. The bits are solid. The magnetic bit holder holds them well enough. The bit storage is secure. Ive had mine as a daily carry for two years and have never lost a bit despite near daily use of the driver. Some days I use the driver half a dozen times. Nothing has been stripped or lost.Kershaw makes a fine blade. Ive sharpened it a few times but honestly it's never really needed it. The blade holds its edge very well. I use it normally for normal things a normal worker uses a knife for. Neither hard nor light duty. The one con is that the driver does not lock open. If you're unused to it or not careful the thing will fold while you're using it. It doesnt happen to me much anymore because i know how to use it now. It probably is possibe to hurt yourself because of this either by pinching or jamming your hand into something sharp. I never have though. It's a matter of learning to use your tool. Like tongue and groove pliers, if you don't use them right you are going to get your fingers pinched. It's a quality multi-tool that is easy to carry and not bulky. You don't even notice you are carrying it until you need it and that's a perfect quality for a multi-tool.I love mine so much I bought a second one in case they stop making them and I loose mine.In near daily use in two years ive had zero quality issues with this knife.
