Wiring strange, work great.
I only get 4mm sensing distance from PEI but that is fine.As another reviewer stated:BLACK is signal BLUE is ground.... Why... Otherwise works fine.took me a few hours before I came here to see, and read his review lol

Fabulous for 5V CNC use!
I did not want to add another power supply or split my 36V supply so I gambled that this will work with my GRBL board and it does!I did have to add some small caps to the board to eliminate false signals (very tiny and cheap ones) but I found that to be the case for using regular switches too. This is so much better than mechanical switches and repeatability is very good so you can home your machine and go to a specific position etc.

Not as advertised.
The TL-W5MC1 is supposed to trigger when it detects metal at 5mm. This isn't the case. After installing and hours of troubleshooting on my 3D printer. It only trigger with a bare aluminum bed at 1.5mm, the spring steel bed at 2mm, and my aluminum bed with a printing sticker surface applied, doesn't trigger AT ALL! It's a shame I waited two years to actually put these to use.

works nice for the money
these small sensors are working great for my cnc limit switches. the wiring I found says:Black is signalBlue is groundBrown is 5-24vI am running 24v they say up to 36v and these have not even gotten warm, seem solid.

Work great with the Duet 3 CNC setup
I'm sure they'd work equally well with whatever controller you use, I happen to use these on a Duet 3 CNC machine wired directly in to IO pins with a diode on the signal line. Reliability and repeatability, while not measured, have been far good enough for anything I do, including PCB double sided machining.
