Restricted use..
When purchasing this item I missed the fact that this Satilite phone 'Can Not' be used in North America (in the U. S.).

Works great in its areas of coverage
The first line of this product description says "Please be aware that Thuraya does not offer global coverage and their handsets will not work in North/South America and surrounding regions" Therefore, those giving a one-star review for this product for not working in the US are reviewing themselves, not this phone.
