It's Cool
Keeps the room smelling, not smelling, actually. Assuming of course it does anything of the sort which I don't really know because who has the time to put two pieces of foam in that doesn't have activated charcoal and run a comparison test? Not me. Probably not you. So we take it on faith. Faith, blind faith, hoping the manufacturer is an honest upstanding company with our best interests at heart and not inclined to profit by supplying something that really has no value. But how can you really be sure? How can anyone be sure of anything these days? I mean look at what the Supreme Court did in Florida? Is that fair? And they're the Supreme Court. If you can't trust the Supreme Court, I mean, how can you trust anyone, even some manufacture who makes composting cans and the companion filters? Right? Am I right? Of course I'm right. You know I'm right, right? Darn sure I'm right and I'll fight anyone who says I'm not. Yeah that's right. Right. But hey, no big deal. I've taken my meds now. Things are much better. Really. I'm good. Ok. So these filters work fine. Fit great, last a long time, no odor. What's not to like, right?

No more PEUWEY
These filter sets definitely eliminate the smell of decomposing vegetable waste. Don't over fill the compost bucket and they will last quite a while. Overfilling the compost bucket will put the waste matter in contact with the filter and contaminate it and fungus will start to grow and smell. I've tried washing out these filters to prolong their life and they can be reused if allowed to dry out thoroughly. Eventually you will have to replace with a new filter. The carbon only eliminates the Smell of decomposition. Once the carbon breaks down, PEUWEY!

No odor
These filters work well to keep the compost bucket from smelling. They are fairly easy to remove and reinsert when I wash the bucket. They are a bit messier than other compost filters I have used (such as with my kitty litter box). By this I mean the charcoal itself seems to fall off the filter onto the counter or my hands easily. Haven't had to change yet - so don't know if they truly keep the odors down for 6 months. Time will tell on this. Overall great product.

Charcoal filters limit smell of compost
We compost most everything except meat, fish, and grease. The charcoal filters keep any odor down. They must be washed regularly (usually once every week or two)--we use hot soapy water and then put them outside to dry. One of them is square and we have a round compost pail, so it takes a minute or two to get it flattened out in the lid of the pail. Overall, they do what they are meant to do.

Compost Pail Filter
The double filters work great with the endurance Compost Pail. There are no odors from our kitchen scraps which is key. The only negative is that although I don't smell anything from the pail, the fruit flies do. The pail still attracts fruit flies in the summer months. I don't know that they can actually get in past the filters but they try. And I don't know if there is a way around this issue.

Didn't work for me.
Even though I measured, they didn't fit my compost pail.
