Sony DSX-GS80 high power media receiver

Great upgrade from my Sony DSX A410BT.

Fitted in a 2005 honda s2000 using a connects 2 loom (for steering controls) and jbl 65 watt rms speakers (ignore max wattage and use rms as they is what really matters)No need to wire direct to the battery in s2000s as they are fused at 15amps in the fuse box already so perfect compatability.Really pleased, Bluetooth music is great, built in equaliser spot on, and clarity is just brilliant, well worth the extra for the higher wattage and clarity without the need for an external amp in smaller setups.

Works a great in a 2002 Lotus Elise (K-Series). Huge improvement over stock unit. Looks way nicer. Sounds way nicer. I was worried it would be too big a draw or cause issues with the often sensitive Lotus but it seems to be working a treat.

-Good power delivery without any distortion, good ability at holding radio stations even in weak signal areas. Downside no DAB.-Bluetooth works well.- I bought it for the built-in time alignment (good for central stereo image)- The built in EQ presets are pretty good, but you also get a custom option.-Built in tone controls are a chore to setup and not easily modifiable on the go, apart from extra bass. This is all done via a free downloadable Sony app.-The speaker output and power input wires are substandard for a high-power stereo, one worries about potential fire hazards from hot wires.

Extremely happy with the upgrade from a Sony DSX-A410BT, this stereo makes my component speakers sound like they are supposed to without an extra amp. Love the full control of sound through Sony app too and easy connection to phone, highly recommend...
