Amazon Basics Prism Ultralight Backpack, Green

If I don't find what I'm about to say is true, I'll return and update my review. But wow! I will admit right off the bat that I did not want to buy this bag. I had other bags in mind for the gym. However, I also have a very tight budget due to a certain virus **cough! cough!** (Too soon? Sorry!) Anyway, I saw this and didn't really look closely at the pictures, but for under $7.00 I thought I was getting one of those thin, collapsible bags. So imagine my surprise when I got this legit backpack. Having hiked a good portion of the Appalachian Trail, I understand what "ultralight" means. But I'm tickled pink with this bag. A decent-sized outer pocket and several section pockets inside.For my purposes -- holding shoes, socks, t-shirt, shorts/sweatpants, and a towel -- THIS.IS.PERFECT!!I'll use it religiously for a few weeks. If I have an update, it'll be here. But until then, I am SUPER happy. I feel like I hit the jackpot. It is definitely higher quality than I imagined.

The product title for this backpack is "ultralight backpack", but my scale says it is 18 ounces, which is not really light. Other lightweight backpacks in this size are less than half the weight. This backpack is padded on the front and bottom as well as the back, which adds to the weight and bulk of this backpack, but also makes it more durable and protects your stuff better than the lightweight backpacks with minimal padding. The size of this backpack is not listed, but I'm guessing 20 liters of interior space. Most book-packs or daypacks are 20 to 30 liters, so this is on the smaller than average. It's not for kids carrying a big load of school and sports gear. It doesn't have a lot of pockets, so it is not really good for hiking, either. I do think it is great for commuting. The sleek design is less likely to bump into other people on the sidewalk or on the subway. There are interior pockets that let you carry a smaller coffee mug or water bottle or umbrella upright inside the bag. I wish the (off-brand) zippers were smoother and sturdier, but at least the main top zipper opens wide for easy access. Shoulder straps are padded enough for a bag of this size and are far enough apart for easy and comfortable use.

Truth is ... I bought this backpack for its price but I love love love it! And, quite a few people have commented on it and asked me where I got it.The color is really nice, it is sturdy, and holds everything I need. I am using a knee scooter right now while I recover from surgery from a broken ankle, and I use the backpack to carry whatever I need. It is sturdy enough to be secure on my back while scootering but comfortabe (and stylish) enough to be part of my work day!I am so happy I bought this backpack! I will prob continue to use it even after I finish healing and dont use the scooter! You need a backpack that will make you happy, too!

I bought this to use for work stuff and it was $20 at the time. It was well worth it at that price! My mom liked it so I came back to order her one and it’s priced at $7.32. Great deal! I do wish there was one more pocket for everyday use. Would make a great personal item for a flight.

This product looked pretty cool in the description photo but in person, I found it to be underwhelming.It's short and wide. On me it kind of looks like a children's backpack.The outer material is a coated canvas type of material. It's more matte in person which I think makes it look cheap. The inside is a shiny lining with 2 inner pockets. There's one medium sized exterior pocket for pencils or other smaller items.The arms straps have almost no padding.The zippers and buckles function well though and don't feel that cheap.It's okay, but I would probably return it if I could. I just don't particularly like what it looks like in person and I don't think it's size or shape has any specific use or special quality about it.

Having had success with AmazonBasics products, including backpacks, I walked in expecting this to be a great, well-designed product. Unfortunately, it was was none of that.Quality is sub-par and feels like a cheaply manufactured product that had little to no design or style implemented into. No side pockets to hold water bottles, yet the profile is similar to backpacks that do.All cons aside, the color is nice. Not much else.

It contains enough space for a small laptop and books. It is easy to put on and carry around.

This backpack is gender & age neutral and literally anyone could use this one. I wouldn't say "ultra" light, but it is light and it's on the smaller side but it still has a nice give so it expands to hold quite a bit of stuff. It has pockets for "extra's" and it is comfortable with heavy loads either over the shoulder or worn as a true backpack.
