Character in a Jar® Cards – November 15, 2008

Excellent source for creating original characters. It's fun to pull out three characteristics, then write a story with that character in mind. Can be used for all grade levels, as long as they understand the descriptors.

I purchased the Characters in a Jar along with several other titles from the manufacturer to use in my classroom of both preteens and teens. The cards are helpful as good conversation starters. Nonetheless, depending on a child's maturity and level of comprehension, some of the cards may need further explanation. Otherwise, I am very happy with the purchase.

I absolutely love this jar! It's opened up great conversations with my 11 & 9 year old children. Great opportunity for teaching & learning great character. I'm buying them for a few friends also.

I really like these the only change is I wish they were in color.

I really like these challenging cards in a jar. I use them at work and the women just love them! It challenges our thinking and we have fun with it. There are different ones to buy.

Not exactly what I was hoping for. I have purchased several other "Jar" products and have had great success in using them with children. However, this jar contains cards with a single word on it. I probably won't be using this item very often.

One creative way to help build characters.I am a volunteer for the children's ministry.We are biblical/God-focused.This jar is an adjunct to what I do.So far,I have good results,dealing w/tweens in this ministry.

I work in a locked psychiatric unit. I use this jar of character words to open discussion with my adult patients on what these words mean to them. And why they should work on displaying these traits.
