This book was easy to read and understand. I think it is a great asset for anyone chasing the fire officer position.

About 200 pages too long. Filled with outdated, contradictory, and irrelevant statistics. Packed with broad, generalizations that are presented as fact but vary between every department. Also, E-book does NOT come with Navigate Advantage Access.

I bought this book as brand new and I came and the access code has been scratched off already and when I tried it, it doesn’t work so this book is useless.

The title is completely misleading, does not include advantage access code. You're better off buying this somewhere else

What I needed for Officer I course. The textbook is well written and organized. The online Navigate etext that comes with the access code is horrible - it's a blob of text in a single column - designed likely so people don't steal it. Unfortunately the design also makes people not want to read it. The online saving grace (and a bonus I wasn't aware of until I used my included access code) was an audio narration of each chapter. This is awesome as I will be using that feature almost exclusively to study during my commute to work. The narrator is AI generated, but it's still tolerable.
