I hate to admit it but, I am still in awe...
After reading many helpful reviews of this product on Amazon, I felt I had to add mine too. When I first opened the box, which Razer designed very cool, I looked at the keyboard and saw it was kind of shinny plastic, that I was not so enthused about. Having said that, this keyboard grows on you, by the second. The more you look at it, if you're a Tron fan like I am, it will grow on you, because it's very cool looking.Others have complained about the spacing of keys, but it did not seem that large a gap. I found it very comfortable to type. I do have, I guess, long fingers, but the space still seems to be not that big of a deal. I got used to the Tron style keys faster than I thought, the font on key that is was designed very cool.Unpacking the keyboard was fun. The box is designed well. As you open it up, there is a black plexi glass pane covering the keyboard with Tron in the plexi, then you see the Keyboard. Under the keyboard is the number key pad addition and a small USB connector which holds/connects the the number pad to the keyboard on either the right or left side. Razer went the extra mile with the cord which the USB connector and two audio connectors to your mike and sound (optional) because the cord is like fabric braided in design. Different! Nice touch.Where this key board shines, and it shines, is when you plug in the two USB connectors(yes it takes two USB ports) and power this rather long keyboard up. Waiting for the Key board to start up is only as a fast as it takes to boot into your Windows (just before the log in screen) then it makes an awesome Tron like sound affect and lights up from the left to the right and lights up again! It's very cool! (If you like Tron.) It will make your friends go "OOOOH! Ahhhh!" (when it boots and lights are all out).If you like to work in dim light or the dark, this the keyboard is for you. Some complained about the keys not being very bright, but in the dark they are bright enough ( not as bright as the main lights). It's still very cool looking! One last note, it's very well designed, big and stable once you connect the number pad to the keyboard and position it where you want it. It's heavier than most keyboards and you really don't want to move it much or lift it as you can disconnect the number pad, which will fit back in and function even after disconnected momentarily by mistake. All in all, I love this keyboard. If you love Tron and have the money to throw at it, I think you will too. There are other gaming features to this and downloaded software but I don't use for games so you'll have to read other reviewers. It's Tron like, it lights up, I love it, you will too!You too can Fight for the UsersEnd of line

Not perfect, but far from what the negative reviews state
I've known about this keyboard since January and have eagerly awaited it's release. It's funny how many negative reviews this keyboard has generated. I will admit, my opinion is highly biased; Tron is the 1st movie I can remember seeing in the theatre and I've been a big fan since. But you kind of have to be to buy this, right? That said, I am not a PC gamer at all, I am a console gamer. That said, my review of this item will probably not be very harsh as the lack of features on the keyboard that would usually be found on other gaming keyboards does not bother me.The keyboard is overall made of smooth plastic. One reviewer stated something about being able to see the molding flaws in the plastic because it is so smooth...this is not a criticism I understand at all. The plastic is thick and perfectly smooth. In fact, this is easily the heaviest keyboard I've ever picked up, even with the number pad detached. It most definitely does NOT feel like a toy. If you are accustomed to mechanical keys that click, you may not like this keyboard. The keys do not click and as the description states, have a short travel distance. But there is a definite weight when you press the keys, it does not feel cheap to type on. In fact, aside from the look of the keyboard, I think the feel of the keys is it's best feature. Yes, they are further apart from each other than a standard keyboard. This thing is wide and takes up a lot of space. If you have big hands (like me) then you wont find this to be a problem. Personally, I find it more comfortable. The detachable number pad does fall off easy if you pick the keyboard up. It's only held in place by a single strong magnet. But it will stay in place on the desk. The lighting looks very nice, but as stated in previous reviews, the keys are not lit to the same intensity as the accent strips. The driver allows for what I assume are pretty standard gaming keyboard features: key reassignment, macro storage, profile storage...but it will not run on a MAC. That means if you own a Mac (once again, like me) then you can only use the features that are on the keyboard's flash RAM which seems to be on the fly macro recording and playback and nothing else...though the lighting can be turned on and off from the keyboard. My biggest gripe with the keyboard is it does in fact use up 2 USB ports and provides none on the keyboard itself. For the money you pay for this item, it should have more features like that. It does come with headphone out and mic in ports, but these are not exactly useful. But it looks like it came straight from The Grid. If you love the Tron movies' aesthetic, this keyboard has got it. From the color of the lighting to the font of the letters on the keys, there is only one thing that you think of when you look at this keyboard.Alton

Great until it breaks
I really like this product! Everything about it is great!! The keys are nice and big. The responsiveness is great, and I adore the blue backlighting. The only reason why I'm giving it a lower rating is because of Razer support. About 2 years back, a year after getting it, I realized that the left and right audio jacks were reversed. So I called them up to see if they could fix it. Turns out that you need to have the original box it came in in order to send it back for a new one. So I no longer use the audio ports, fine. A slight inconvenience. Then about a year ago, the keyboard started disconnecting and reconnecting, often making important keys (like WASD) nonresponsive. After weeks of searching the web, it seams like this is a rather common occurrence. It is also my deduction that the fault lies in the braided cords. The extreme flexibility of the braided cords offers no support at the point where USB jack meets cord. So the cord is partially broken at the joint, causing it to randomly disconnect the keyboard if you bump your tower just right. So after my previous dealing with the nightmare that is Razer CS, I opted not to go through that headache again. So now I have a keyboard that is driving me nuts that I can't fix. So in summary, great product!!!! Until it breaks. Then you might as well just throw it in the trash because you will not get it fixed by Razer.
