Soft light when it is Needed
These lights work like a charm. When we lost power I was surprised when the lamp beside my bed came on automatically. The light didn't come on bright either, it was a nice soft glow that I guess was to preserve the power of the lightbulb.I was not only impressed but grateful and will order more.

A GREAT EMERGENCY LIGHT BULB
LOVE these emergency bulbs. When the power goes out, the lights come on. If your lamps are OFF, turn them ON and you have light. I also like the mobile function. Just screw the adapter onto the bulb, push the button and you have an instant right flashlight or you can put it in a room where there are no lamps. The bulb doesn't need a lamp to light.

Bought on a whim bc of unpredictable weather ….
With all this unpredictable weather across the country I purchased these on a whim — but boy am I happy bc I switched the bulb in lamps to these and shortly after we lost power. Well I still had lights bc my bulbs switched to rechargeable mode ! They are brighter than I expected and u can unscrew and walk around with them too !Very happy I took a chance !

Will Not Fit Many Lamps - But Works Very Well
The problem is that these are very big bulbs and the harp, or frame, that lampshades connect to on a lot of lamps are too small for these to fit within. We found one lamp we had that will fit the bulb; its lampshade doesn’t use one of those harps or frames to attach it to the lamp. If you have that type then the bulbs will work fine. Otherwise you’ll be using it as a free hanging bare bulb, or buying a new lamp. One other thing I wanted to mention which seems to be confusing. As long as the lamp or fixture is a one-bulb unit with an on-off switch on the lamp itself, the bulb acts as any ordinary bulb. Turn the lamp on, bulb lights up, turn the lamp off and the bulb goes out, and then lights up if the power fails while the lamp is on. However, if you try to use one in a multi-bulb fixture, or one controlled by a wall switch, the bulb will always be lit even when the switch is off. Turning a wall switch off is the same as a power failure to the bulb so it will light up. So for my uses these bulbs aren’t that useful, primarily because of the size, but they function very well in the proper setting. When buying any such bulbs carefully check the listed dimensions, if there are any.
