I have no idea how it works, but it totally does! In 2017, my immune system was down--from stress of summer heat and humidity. As a consequence, I got a nasty infection of my eye, from a clogged duct. I had to have antibiotic cream for my eyelid. It happened again this summer, but with something worse--my whole jaw hurt, including moral number #30 or #31; an abscess that caused intense pain. The dentist said they could do an x-ray and schedule me for root canal, and I might even lose the tooth! I started a course of bitter melon ("ampalaya" in filipino). After only one day, the pain subsided in my jaw, and within 3 days I could put huge pressure on the molars and basically no pain; the bacteria were suppressed. I think it works by means of a series of related alkaloids like Momordicin incorporating into the membranes of resting B and T cells, turning on their proliferation, restoring immune function. These capsules are my sine qua non for the stress of the horrid heat and humidity of summer in these awful times of global climate crisis. I never am suppressed in fall or winter, never! The fruit itself is terribly bitter and hard to take, but the capsules are basically flavorless!

I had this, then got rid of it because I thought that this was not doing the job. I was not checking my levels, but I did after I got rid of it! It kept the levels down (even when eating the wrong things - a little) and it does it in a smooth, more gradual way that helps to keep the levels down. Ceylon cinnamon drops it abruptly, but does not really keep i down in a steady way. Bitter Melon is supposed to work with the pancreas to help produce or enhance insulin levels. So this is actually a better solution - or get them both! I made a mistake before, but I highly recommend this. There was another brand that I used that was GREAT (15:1 organic), but the feds got on top of them to shut them down while they were making nothing but the best, pure and organic stuff.
