I thought this filing cabinet would be difficult to find and replace the lock. I found this lock and it was easy to install and it works great. The lock functions as needed and keeps my files secure when im not present. Great value for the intended use. Highly recommended if you lost your keys or the lock is broke this is the lock for you..

These aren't the typical locks you find when trying to replace locks in a filing cabinet. I have a few of these formica style office cabinets. They're very sturdy and have lasted years. I needed to replace a few locks on them & it's not easy to find this exact style of lock--which is the only kind I can use in these cab's. They installed very easily. Fit the screw holes in my cabinets exactly. The screws that came with them were better than what I had in the originals. The only little issue was that the ferrule rings that fit into the front were not very deep at all. They have 4 little prongs that I was able to bend a bit and make them tighter. Two of the grommets that were in there needed to be replaced so I had to use these shallow ones. I'll pull them out and glue them in as well and they'll be fine after that; just wish they fit better, that's all. Overall I'm very pleased with these locks. Not anything high security, it's just so the drawers stay closed while moving so I keep the keys in them all the time. Would've been nice to find a set of four that ALL took the SAME key. Guess I'd need to go to a locksmith for that so these were a great bargain. ~JSV

Great locks!

Easy to install

Lock jammed on first installation and the key sheared off when i tried to unlock it. Now my cabinet is just permanantly locked.

Excellent replacement fit

This is a very affordable replacement lock for a desk. However the diameter is smaller by a noticeable amount but it does fit and works. The overall quality is very average to below average but it’s a desk lock. It locks the desk.

The quality of this drawer lock is a bit low. I’ve installed one of these now and it’s just not a smooth experience. Locking and unlocking feels like a challenge. I have a feeling that this might break soon. However It gets the job done for the time being.
