Love this little gem.
This is in my wife's computer, and is my first non-work-related purchase of an SSD. I know this is a bottom of the line drive, but it's impressively fast for the inexpensive price! This is used for typical stuff like browsing the internet, using Word and other office suite programs, and the occasional gaming session. It is, admittedly, a bit short on capacity @ 120GB, but for most people who don't have tons of picture/videos/music, 120GB is plenty. It doesn't make any noise, unlike your old-school mechanical drive.I see no reason to buy anything more expensive than this drive. I have used lots of different SSD's, even the Samsung 840/850 drives, and it's a bit hard to see much difference in normal activities that don't include benchmarking.Unless you are running benchmarks for a living, this is a sweet little drive! I highly recommend it!***UPDATE*** Well, after 1 year the drive died. The computer shutdown and was unable to boot into windows. I tested the drive in multiple computers, and it's dead, BIOS can't see it. I sent for an RMA and was issued a new drive very quickly. This drive carries a 5 year warranty. Thanks for the quick recovery time, OCZ/Toshiba. I lost all data on the drive, so that's a major bummer.**If you found this review helpful, please mark it as helpful by clicking "Yes" below.**

Good Drive, Fast Shipping
Drive got here earlier than promised, that's why we like Prime, otherwise we would cancel membership. Went with this item because the company stands behind their products so far as we have dealt with them. It runs very fast, boots laptop in 11 seconds to windows 7, and is really easy to install, no fancy software if doing a clean install. Migrating your present drive to this would require 3rd party software which is easy to find online and free, depending where you look. I have installed windows 7 and 10 three times each choosing different builds to test and drive still shows no lag. I would buy another when needed.

Great for upgrading my old laptop
I purchased this to be the primary hard drive on my spare laptop. My laptop is about 5 years old and was getting very slow. I decided to swap out the old hard drive for this solid state drive and install Linux Mint as the primary operating system. After making the switch it is extremely quick and responsive. In many ways it is even faster than the HP Envy I purchased 6 months ago to be my primary laptop. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the first one that I ordered did not work when I received it. Amazon was very fast in sending out a replacement drive at no charge and the replacement has worked perfectly. However, this does give me a little concern for the drive possibly failing in the future. To be fair this can happen with any drive and is the reason why all important data should be backed up.Overall I am very happy with this purchase, and would buy it again. It turned my old barely usable laptop into a very responsive backup. Just make sure any important information is backed up.

Died after 4 months -- no longer recognized by BIOS
I was using this to run a home-built Plex Media Server PC. It was the main OS drive, while using a standard high capacity HD for the media. The drive worked great. It booted fast and served up Plex media fast. Great, until about 3 months later when overnight the PC froze. A reboot shows the drive not even recognized by the BIOS. I pulled it and tried it on other PCs, no help. The good news is that OCZ replaced the drive quickly, but in the meantime I already replaced it with a Sandisk SSD. I thought maybe I had a fluke, but judging by reviews for this SSD, they seem to be having a quality issue at OCZ.If you own this drive and it hasn't failed yet, I strongly recommend you go to OCZ's site and download updated firmware for the drive which should prevent failures similar to what happened to mine. Once it's gone -- it's gone, but updated firmware may prevent the problem.

OCZ has a lot of explanin' to do!
I purchased two of theses SSDs for a Point of Sale systems. There were 2 deployments so one drive for each PC.I usually use cheapo Kingston or Sandisk SSDs. I've had them deployed for 2 yrs+ and never ever ever a problem buying bottom of the barrel SSD products from those above mentioned brands. There's no moving parts and it's flash memory. There's very little to go wrong here.It looks like OCZ leveraged their brand name and went beyond the bottom of the barrel. The first SSD failed within 5 weeks. Now the 2nd SSD has failed in less than 8 weeks total since installation. These drives are rated at 27GBs (GigaBytes) per day for endurance. A point of sale system like the one deployed will be LUCKY to have tens of MBs (MegaBytes) of read/write per day possible PER WEEK. A Gigabyte is 1,024 MBs so you can do the math. These have been deployed for a few thousand hours and their MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) is in the MILLIONS of hours.Look at the other reviews. I saw them and decided to ignore them because I know the OCZ brand and used to associate it as a reputable premium brand. I will no longer EVER consider OCZ this is simply unacceptable. How does this even pass QA!?Also, don't try to fool yourself and say "Oh, these must be extreme or unlikely circumstances, it will never happen to me." Well, if you ignore the fact that this drive was severely under utilized, OCZ quotes endurance life of 30TB (TeraByte). That it was deployed for less than 3,500 hours out of a MTBF of 1,500,000 hrs.You could say: "What if there was sub par power and that heavily accelerated wear on the SSD?"I would say: "That's a good point however, the POS System uses very sensitive weighing equipment and as such they're on sinwave UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) with AVR (Active Voltage Regulation) so that the power that the POS System and Scale use are clean.I am at a loss for words. This is simply unacceptable. It's almost like the Toshiba NAND they use failed Toshiba QA and an exec at OCZ had the genius idea of using this garbage NAND to make a quick buck. Severely disappointed!!!! I will stick to Sandisk and Kingston for these types of applications.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM OCZ!
