Fantastic product, reasonable noise for the volume of air it moves. Wish I had purchased one with air flow in the other direction

Basically this unit will push air but it will not make any size of space any cooler. With that said, I’m sure others might find it worth purchasing.

The fans inside this thing are some of the loudest fans I have ever heard and if you turn the speed down to level 1(slowest setting) they are still audible but not because of your typical fan chopping the air sound, they squeal like bad brakes on a car. A very high pitched annoying sound. Both fans make this noise, not just one of them. The unit is otherwise very clean and high quality plastic, metal, and paint were used. Hell even the LCD screen looks pretty good. But they seriously cut corners when selecting the fans in this thing. They look like your standard 120mm PC fans but the connector is not so you cant just swap out the fans for some Noctua's or something. They are louder than any other fan in my theater. I have a gaming PC in a cabinet hidden away and when I want to play, I just open the front door(Back of the cabinet has a hole cut out to let air flow) and was hoping to install this in the front door so I don't have to open it up every time. This thing is louder than my gaming PC in a cabinet which is choked for air!!! Do not trust the audio level rating in the product description. They must have been measuring this from 10 feet away. Now they do make another product mean for a small cabinet(this is meant for a large cabinet/closet) which is supposedly quieter and I will give that a shot.

AC Infinity makes great products all around, but I have issues with the logic surrounding fan speed changes in SMART mode. When the temperature is right on the edge of a fan speed transition, it can continuously speed up and slow down while it dances around that level. If you're within earshot, it's pretty annoying.

Let me start by saying that I really like the AC Infinity product line. They're functional and they look great. However, this product missed the mark a little bit. To start with - I bought the unit but it took a few months before it made it to the top of my project list. I finally cut open my walls (unfortunately, it's wider than a stud bay, so you'll be doing some frame work or cutting a stud)... That's not really the product's fault - but they should offer one that's <=15" so it'll fit a standard stud bay for in-wall use. Once I got it all cut in, I fired it up for a test run - and it was blowing in the wrong direction. I put this over the door to my AV closet. I never would've even expected them to sell two separate SKUs - one for intake and one for exhaust. How stupid is that! Adding a direction switch or menu option HAD to be cheaper than adding another SKU to inventory! Oh well - they're just fans, and I'm past the return period - so I just popped a few screws out and flipped the fans. Problem solved. Then I turned it on... on it's lowest setting, it's pretty quiet - but given the use, the fans used really aren't the highest quality. Other reviewers commented that they eventually swapped the fans - and I may have to do the same. I don't need extra noise in a room unless it's something expected, like excessive heat causing the fans to kick up to high... but even on speed 2, they're noisier than they should be. Then there's the settings - this is where they really blew it. My lower level is usually 65-71 degrees. I want to set the fan to auto so it kicks on any time the room is 72 or higher. Well, the fan turns up its speed in increments as it gets closer to the set temp - not as it goes over. So, in order to maintain a 72 temp and keep the fan running as slow as possible unless it gets hot, I actually had to set the fan to 82. This way, at about 72, it kicks on at 1, then as the temp rises, it automatically kicks the fan speed up. This makes no sense - the set temp should be the activation temp; anything below shouldn't activate the fan, and as the temps rise from there, the fans should increase speed. It still does the job well, and everything else is great... you have the ability to expand the system, add intake grills if needed, etc. However, for how good it looks, they should've used a fan direction switch, higher quality fans, and made the menus make more sense. That said, it's installed and it does add a good look to the closet, and I find it does a pretty good job of keeping the temp inside the closet pretty close to the ambient temperature of the room while running on its lowest speed most of the time, so I'm happy with it nonetheless. If the fans get noisier or fail, I'll definitely replace with something of a higher quality and quieter.
