A worthwhile teaching tool
This hasn't made a master automotive electrician out of me but it has absolutely helped me to understand something that I've always struggled with when it comes to auto repair. If you're looking for knowledge in an understandable medium this is a great tool.

great book
great book. ive been a mechanic for years i have always focused on the mechanical side of things because wiring can be such a pain. i hate trouble shooting wiring and don't like installing aftermarket items like radios and electric fans. this book and volume 1 have changed that. Tony Candela has managed to produce to books that are easy to read and explain wiring in a simple and concise way. i highly recommend this book.

Hard to understand how to apply (for dummies like me)
I was hoping that this book would be more of a complete guide to wiring a car. It goes over some of the elements/components, but not really the entire car. Plus, I was hoping that this would be simple to follow instructions on how exactly to wire (diagrams showing exactly how to run). Instead, this book feels like a college professor (where he is trying to teach you the concepts behind electricity, and how you should measure and calculate things). I get it, that is important for someone looking to create a perfectly designed system. However, to someone like me, I was hoping for more dummy-proof instructions. For example: if you are too lazy to calculate load, a 12 gauge wire will be oversized and work on 99% of what you need to do...and here is a diagram of how exactly to run the wire. I'm less interested in learning why...and just want to get the electrical done.
