My favorite juicer, and worth every penny!
Love this juicer. I waited a few weeks before writing this because I wanted to get past my "first impressions" and see if I still loved using it and if I found any flaws by using it more than the first time. I watched several videos of this juicer in use and the one guy I've seen more than the others always preached putting in soft fruit or leafy greens followed by something hard like a carrot. He even uses a carrot to plunge the leafy greens and soft fruits into the chute and lets it chew the end of the carrot off each time. I have followed this routine and it works perfectly. I was most impressed to see this thing grab and pull an entire stalk of celery down the chute and devour it! That means much less time in prep and more time in juicing. Of course you still have to cut down the apples and oranges, pineapple and beets into slim enough pieces to fit in the tube, but I absolutely love being able to wad up a leaf of kale and stuff it down the tube, stem and all and watch it pull it in. I keep the output cap adjusted to the middle setting and the pulp comes out pretty dry and the juice is great. Even with the pile of greens, (kale, spinach, celery and more) the juice doesn't have hardly any foam on the top when I finish. The juice is full and has a little of the pulp in it, which I like. The yield from the amount of veggies and fruit is amazing, easily the best I've seen from any of the four juicers I've tried. We also have a Champion, but it isn't made to juice greens and does a horrible job of it if you insist on trying, and I ended up with as much foam as juice and had to unclog at least 6 times in one juicing session. That meant taking it apart and cleaning all the pulp out, and brushing the screen, and reassembly only to go a few minutes and do it again. The other two juicers I've used were both vertical masticating juicers and both of them broke pretty quickly, one of them on the first use, and for both of them and the Champion you had to slice up things that had stems like kale, and of course celery had to be chopped up into 1/4" pieces. So you can tell that the prep time with the Omega is going to be much less. Clean up is quicker with the Omega than any of the other three I've used, and I am not making this up. Maybe the holes in the Omega screen are a tiny bit larger, I don't know why, but it only takes a few swipes with the brush provided and it rinses clean. I was fortunate enough to be able to get my money back from the other two vertical juicers so really all that was wasted was my time. I tried to cheap out on buying a juicer and hoped to get lucky. No luck. But with the Omega I am very pleased with how it compares to all the others I've used and I feel like it is absolutely worth what I paid, especially knowing what I went through with vertical juicers that cost $100 less than this one. And the Champion, which cost quite a bit more. This one is a keeper! (My wife hasn't used the Champion since we got the Omega, and she seems to love it just as much as I do) Just remember that this is not a fast process, so make it a relaxing time, slow down and enjoy how well it works, follow your soft pieces with your carrot plunger or whatever, soft, hard, repeat... and I think you will be quite pleased with it. I will try and update my review as time goes on.

Upgraded from a centrifugal juicer, and I'm in love...
We started juicing about a year ago. My husband had researched juicers, and although we knew masticating juicers were supposed to be better, we weren't ready to jump into that price point. If I knew then what I know now, I would have gone straight to a machine like this one. It's much quieter, and faster/easier to clean. The footprint is about the same, but the base can sit back along the counter, whereas our vertical centrifugal juicer needs to be towards the front to clear the top cupboards. The base is pretty much the size and shape of a toaster. I like that this model has the metal screens and thicker plastic cones. There's a lot less surface area to clean than our old juicer, and no sharp edges to watch out for. With the centrifugal design, we'd have chunks of apple or carrot get shot into the waste bin, and lots of stuff sprayed along the top of the outgoing chute. It also sometimes escaped through the pieces of the juicer, and sprayed the walls. It didn't feel like we were getting the most out of the fruits and vegetables, and I was getting tired of cleaning the wall. I also didn't like that much noise first thing in the morning. My husband's favorite juice has kale in it (also celery, apple, ginger, and cucumber). We made his juice this morning, and got 150% of what we usually get. I don't like any pulp in my orange juice, and carefully read reviews about pulp. I've made several fruit juices already, with things like strawberries, grapes, pear, apple, peaches, and grapefruit. I haven't had any issue with pulp. The strawberries were noticeably creamier, in a good way, almost like a fruit smoothie. I felt like I was getting more of the fruit. The grapefruit shavings looked like coleslaw when they came out of the machine. We've been very impressed with the dryness of the pulp. The screen mesh is fine enough that there isn't anything I would call pulp in the juice. There's an extra mesh strainer in the box, but I haven't even used it yet. There's a lot less surface area that touches the food, so a lot less to clean. I don't own a blender or a food processor because I don't like cleaning appliances, but don't mind cleaning this juicer. One of the reviews said that if this one is too much for someone to clean, they probably shouldn't juice, and that may be true (though I'd hate for someone not to juice). Much less screen, much less surface area, and no sharp parts. In our other juicer, not only were there sharp teeth, but the large plastic top part was bulky and hard to rotate around in the sink to clean, plus the plastic triangle that guides the pusher is pointy and was always scraping me. Throw everything into soapy water right away, and it's pretty painless. We also used to use plastic produce bags for the outbin in our old juicer, but I find I don't need them with this new one, since there's a little pile of much drier pulp. I got this model instead of the next version because of the detachable funnel, longer pusher stick, and more durable plastic of the juice/pulp bins. Those were the things that stuck out to me when I compared the reviews. I considered a vertical masticating juicer, but read lots of reviews about the pulp chute clogging, the plastic filter cracking, and too much pulp in the juice. We haven't had those issues with this machine. The vertical models have larger feed chutes, but I don't mind making a few extra slices. It's somewhat relaxing and meditative. It's not that much different than our old juicer, which was supposed to be able to do large things, but required small bits because if a flat surface hit the bottom of the spinning basket, it would just stay there. Rather than cubing the apple for the old machine, I slice it into longer slices for this machine. Our old machine had sharp teeth that could hurt you, but could also get dull. That's not an issue with this machine. All in all, we are extremely happy with this juicer, and heartily recommend it.

It works wonderfully. Yes
We've used this a few times now. It works wonderfully. Yes, I do have to cut the size down to about 1" width or less. But, it juices much quicker than some reviews led me to believe. It squeezed out so much liquid, that the mulch is almost dry. It only takes me a few minutes to make a 24 oz cup of veggie juice (Kale, broccoli, spinach, ginger, garlic, jalapeno, lemon, apple, carrots, tomato, blueberries, and sweet potato). Everything went through easily and was as fully 'juiced' as think would be possible, without a centrifuge. I plan on recycling the veggie pulp for veggie broth. Waste not want not. :-) Cleanup is a breeze. It states it is dishwasher safe, but I figure why bother, it only takes a couple minutes with a sponge and some dish soap. I've used both a food processor and a blender for making veggie/fruit drinks before. I like this better. Best wishes and happy juicing! (Deducted 1/2 star for having to prep fruits and veggies more than I prefer. Besides, is there really anything that is 'perfect' in everyone's eyes?)

Great model, the best one in the Omega family in my opinion (equal the NC800)
I'm very happy with this juicer. If you are looking at horizontal auger masticating juicers, no doubt you are looking at this and its siblings. Of all the Omega juicers i think this is the best one. Reasons this is better than the basic 8006 model and its equivalents: * This comes with both an adjustable and fixed end cap. That allows you to adjust the back pressure depending on the type of item you are juicing. Very easy to use and clean. You can still use the fixed one if you want. Good. Really, that's it. It's an upgrade for not much extra money. There's a slightly different auger and larger screen but I don't think those make any difference to speak of. What do you get by upgrading to the NC800? Just a somewhat wider input tube. That could be convenient, but that model also has the tray permanently affixed to the tube, which is actually a downside. And at the time I bought it, there was a large jump in price between this and the NC800. This juicer works well. My normal juice mix is carrot, cucumber, broccoli, and cucumber. You can develop a taste for it and it certainly feels healthy. There's a certain satisfaction to drinking it, and frankly that's the only way I'm getting that nutrition. I haven't used it to make sorbet yet, but this model comes with the blank attachment to do that and I'm actually pretty excited about it.

Fabulous!!!
Oh my I don't know where to begin! I am so glad I read reviews all over the internet and here on Amazon and chose to purchase this Omega juicer. This is the third brand of juicer I have used, from a very cheap one, to an expensive one and now this one. I totally made the correct decision with this purchase. Of course it makes great juice - that goes without saying. But it is sturdy, well built, and well designed. At this point I have made fantastic orange juice and delicious vegie juices. Using some of the attachments that come with it, I made a delicious frozen fruit sorbet for us for dessert. It does greens wonderfully. I have not found anything that this machine balks at. As you use it you discover a little trick here, a little tweak there to come up with juices that you like. And clean up is a breeze! I just finished making our vegie juice for the day with tomatoes, beets, carrots, celery, etc. etc. And what makes this amazing is that I'm wearing a white top. There is not one splash of juice on it -- at all!!!! It takes me longer to make the juice then it does to clean up the machine and the kitchen. THIS is a perfect machine! I can think of nothing I would do differently. And coming from me, that's saying something - I can usually find a little something I'd change, but not with this. If you want a juicer, this is the one to buy!! Omega Juicers J8007S 5th Generation Nutrition Center HD Juicer, Silver/Black

BEST. JUICER. EVERRRRRRR.
I can't even tell you how much I love this juicer. I actually bought the Hamilton Beach centrifugal juicer last year and it was so loud it sounded like I had a vacuum on the counter. That's bad enough, but when you juice at 7am it's unacceptable. Thankfully Amazon allowed me to return it. I researched for a year and it was between this one and a Breville. I went with this one because 1. the juice should last for a few days stored correctly 2. easy clean up and most importantly 3. its quiet. It's SO quiet. It's BY FAR less noisy than a blender. By at least a third. You can talk around it without raising your voice. It makes a lot of juice and I can save it for a few days without compromising quality. But normally I pre-chop and juice daily. So far all the juices have been great. I rarely get pulp/parts, unless I'm juicing carrots. The quality is just fantastic. Clean-up is a breeze. It has about 7 parts. If I'm short on time, I fill the sink with warm soapy water and throw all parts in there till the afternoon. If I have more time I rinse first and throw them in the top rack of the dishwasher. THAT'S IT! I will scrub the mesh with my little brush, but there are no large cones to clean, which was a pain with the HB juicer. We all know that if something is difficult you just won't do it. I juice every day BECAUSE it's an easy juicer. You won't regret the purchase.

Very powerful. I used it to juice jicama - a great prebiotic

Great for 1 or 2 cups. Sucks at making big batches for the fridge.
Solid motor, handles beets/carrots with no problems. Carrying handle on top is actually a plus. Produces dry pulp, so it is extracting, and makes good juice!! But, not happy with this design. Feed shoot is really small. It does have a problem with soft stuff (cucumber/orange) as it just doesn't seem to able to push it through. If I alternate - cucumber, then carrots, then cucumber, etc. - seems to help. But what if I just wanted cucumber or fruit juice...? My main complaints are these: 1) It's a masticating juicer, which means you can make bigger batches of juice to put in the fridge, no need to juice only as you're ready to drink it. BUT the container that catches the juice is maybe 2 cups. So if you're making a pitcher of juice, it means juicing for a while, stopping, pulling out the juice-catch-container, cleaning out the screen, pouring juice into pitcher, putting everything back, then resume juicing. This increases the time and the mess. If the whole machine sat up higher, a bigger catch-container could be put underneath. 2) There is no "close" valve on the juicer. When you slide the catch container out to clean the screen or pour the juice, the juice in the machine continues to drip/flow. This increases the mess. 3) The auger-grinder part is short, which makes the set-up of juicer/juice-catch-container/pulp-catch-container a pretty tight operation in terms of space. If you need to remove the juice-catch-container while juicing to clean the screen or pour juice into something, it means having to move the pulp-catch-container out of the way, which means having to scrape any hanging pulp from the exit shoot or lest it falls on the counter, like it did with me. This increases the time and the mess. Overall, this is my third juicer, my second masticating juicer. I'm a devout juicer. This one is the messiest juicer I've used. And this one makes me feel like I'm working for my juice more than any juicer I've used. Keep in mind, I'm making a small pitcher of juice. If you're into making two cups of juice and then stopping and cleaning up, this is a fantastic choice and should last a lifetime and you should buy it now. But, if you're into taking advantage of the whole reason to get a masticating juicer (making enough juice that you can put it in the fridge for later), I would not buy this one again and do not recommend it. The pulp is dry, the juice is great, but the design and operation are disappointments.
