Like the size and the speed
I have bought several Thomas brand cars for the train sets but this bullet train is the only one that can go up the hills and under the bridges (without human help). The speed of a Thomas train is faster than this one, but more easily gets derailed. The steady and slower speed of the bullet train keeps it on track. Though the sound does not sound that much like a train, it is not a big deal. Overall, it is a good quality train.

SO FAR SO GOOD!
At a whoppong $19.99, this exspensive battery operated locomotative is great for wooden tracks, and (with batteries) would be well worth price! It comes with a 2 car train and a mini figurine lego type person. It has front and rear lights that light up and has 3 buttons for forward, stop, and reverse.Overall, it is a good buy, and i hope it lasts for a long time.

Good looking, well constructed and strong body, traction can better
The media could not be loaded. The trains looks amazing it has more torque thanks to the additional battery but traction is not enough so that renders the additional torque almost useless. Also The gears did not survive 5 mins in the hands of a 3 years old kid, now when climbing a hill the train make a grinding noise... That is a deal breaker detail ...____________________________________________Couple of days after that review I was determine not to buy a new train and get my hands on fixing this one so I opened it ... gears were in perfect shape and lubricated... but they were slipping, so the ultimate solution was a small piece of foam-tape about 1 mm thick on top of the little engine so when the body is closed it presses the engine down avoiding the slipping of the little worm drive over the gear... now is a 5 stars train very sturdy and durable.

Amazon rechargeable batteries don't fit...
So amazon's rechargeable batteries don't fit in this right. They get stuck, and the thing still won't turn on. Switched for regular energizer batteries, and it works great. My kid has been using it for hours and is obsessed. Great product, just be careful with what batteries you put in!

Super cute!
This little train can move! Now, granted, I'm comparing it to a 15 year old brio that is on its last legs, but this lil guy doesn't even slow down when you add cars to it!One thing I wish I known is that the sound everyone is talking about is just the chug chug sound, no choo-chooing. Not a big deal, I had just assumed. The noise does go on all the time, which means there is no secretly turning it off - the moment my son hears the sound stop, he runs back over to turn it on. Which, as another plus, is very easy to do for little fingers! So overall great little train!Edit: It ran several hours a day for two whole weeks before I had to change the battery!

Train didn’t work but customer service is great
(Updated from 1 star to 3, customer service refunded my account after seeing my review which I appreciated because it ended up in the trash Christmas morning and by that time I was out of the return window. Hoping my train was just a dud and would consider buying again when his Thomas the train one goes out)Just wasted 30 minutes 1 am Christmas morning trying to close the battery door on the train.. the angle you have to get the little notches on one side of the door causes the spring to bend hitting the side of the battery, not allowing it to make contact with the negative end. There’s also a stopper on the screw which makes the screw not fit into the respective hole.. I was finally able to take that stopper off and get everything lined up once I did it won’t even turn back on after the 2 seconds when I first put the batteries in but couldn’t get the door to line back up. So many design flaws.. and poorly made. I’ve never had a product crap out after 2 seconds.
