Packed with fun activities, this workbook helps children find their creative voice, build writing skills and confidence, and have more enjoyment with their writing. Review: Great for budding authors - I ordered this book for my daughter who loves to write but needed help with structuring her (many) ideas. Lexi's book grabbed her attention straightaway, with it's easy-to-follow workbook format and fun projects (including my favourite – 'Imagine you are a piece of fluff under the bed, write what you can see'), and she couldn't put it down, even getting up early to add to her character bios. Great buy for those needing a creative, organised push with their own writing. Review: Lots of good activities - "This book is a treasure trove for budding young authors! With over 70 engaging activities, it sparks creativity and guides children through the fundamentals of storytelling in a fun and accessible way. Parents will love the variety of exercises that target different aspects of writing, from character development to plot structure. A must-have for nurturing a love of writing in children!"

Great story writing
Creative Writing Skills by Lexi Rees is an excellent guide and workbook for anyone wanting to write or seeking to improve their story writing skills. It should capture the imagination of all children in the seven to eleven range, which the book is aimed at. But it would be good for older people too. It would make a great gift, being full of entertaining activities; building characters, ideas and skills; and helping to create story lines. Organised into eight sections, these include thoughtful themes, dynamite dialogue and story sparks, all of which should encourage and develop the enthusiasm of any young person. I think this book should be on every school's book list, and on every family's Christmas shopping list too.

Both useful and fun!
Great to see a ‘How to’ book for creative writing which breaks all the components down into manageable chunks with fun activities for each. My 13 year old used the book to inspire her 7 year old sister to think about her story writing and they both really enjoyed working through the activities together. It’s very clear to follow and helpful for a child to see how all the elements build up. Well-presented, fun, altogether excellent - ideal for 7-11 yer olds, both boys and girls.

Fun activities
The books is very good, encouraging my 8year old to think and be creative with her writing. It's quite fun and she enjoys the activities in the book. The book guides through each activity which makes it an easy and fun activity.

Good book rotten courier
The book is great but the courier left the package on the doorstep in the rain and neither rang the bell nor knocked the door, so it got rather wet.

My daughter throughly enjoys this creative work book. It’s her summer ‘fun activity’ which usually is a hit or miss but this one is a hit!!!

I used this for to supplement my 4th graders language arts. He really likes it and I thought it was well worth the money. My only complaint is there are no page numbers, so when I was writing out assignments I had to ad them. Not a deal breaker.

Great way to break up the parts of writing a creative story with fun activities to try out to get your creative juices going. Im using it with my 3rd grader for homeschool and she has come up with some great creations using this.
