I bought this (elsewhere) for myself 12 years ago when I was going through a difficult time and had been advised to try journaling. I don't like to journal, but the structured fill-in-the-blank prompts worked really well for me. Personally, I find a blank page where I'm supposed to just pour out my feelings to be overwhelming. So with this journal, I liked being given direction about what to record and I liked the positive prompts. I also liked the consistency from one day to the next because the prompts were the same each day. It was easy to look back and see how things compared/changed from one day/week to the next.So, in the last couple of years when I had two friends who were going through their own dark time, I gave them each this journal as a gift. They both LOVED it and used it regularly. The bonus is they both love purple, so that made it extra special. The spiral binding makes it very easy to write in; it lays flat or can be folded back. The covers are heavy (chunky) cardboard and very sturdy. I recommend it for yourself or a friend who needs a structured way to record their journey.

This prayer journal is the best for someone just starting out with prayer journaling. They have spaces for the weather, how you feel, your special prayer requests for the day, etc...that help someone new at this begin to think and analyze their day. I love the questions that get your thinking juices flowing and then the page to write your journal entry afterward. The only suggestion I would have is that they put a verse or something of the sort on the pages to help you think about different scripture throughout the days you're journaling (there is one, but it's the same on every single page; I'd like to see it mixed up). To compensate for that, I read a daily devotional book before I start my journal; would love if it was all encompassing.

I like the prompts inside this notebook and the space for prayer and reflections, but the cover is bulky. I ended up ripping off the “frame” and making it flatter. I hate the frame sticking up.

Excellent for prayer and daily life journal. It is wonderful to look back on prayer concerns and see how the Lord has answered prayers. The journal makes you reflect on your day in a more in-depth manner. Second one I have bought!

I saw this Prayer Journal at a gift shop at Cave of the Winds in Colorado Springs. I wanted to get it then, but I decided to hold off as we had no room in our luggage. I am so glad I found it again on Amazon and I absolutely LOVE it! It's perfect for my morning tea time and a great way to record special thoughts, prayers, and events throughout the year so I can look back later and reflect. This would be an excellent gift as well!

This is my 17th book. I like how easy it is to use. Plus it helps me to be grateful each day and get closer to God by reading his word everyday!
