Great quality self-cleaning brush
I have a few hairballs who the vet told me are actually dogs. In the winter that's believable as they snuggle up to me to stay warm as dogs are supposed to do. In the summer, though, they are nothing but hairy, furry things that leave trails and tumbleweeds and clumps of themselves everywhere. It is for those messy creatures that I purchased this brush. It's sturdy and the bristles capture as much of the creatures as they can before the creatures wiggle away. The self-cleaning button makes it easy to remove the clumps on the bristles so I don't risk jamming a metal bristle into my fingers or under my nails (again). I love this brush. I need this brush. I think the hair creatures in my house need this brush. You should get this brush too!

Great deshedding brush
Easy to useDidn't know my long haired cat, who honestly would rather get a bath than fully groom herself, would prefer this brush over even food or attention. It seems durable so far, easy to use and clean, and doesn't hurt your hand to hold. The cats definitely love it, and it gets their loose fur off easily. It also doesn't scratch their skin or leave red marks while brushing, and doesn't pull out fur that isn't loose either, so over brushing doesn't seem to be an issue.Even on my other long haired cat who only wants a hand to pet her or a bath, it gets tangles out easy without causing her any pain, and she tolerates it better than any other brush or comb tried, even coming to the brush and laying down. Not sure why this works so well for ornery cats, but it definitely makes it a lot easier

It really works!
I needed a dog brush for my newly adopted four legged friend. The thought of dealing with dog hair flying in the air, all over me, and especially stuck in the brush was quite unappetizing! When I stumbled across this little gadget I thought, "yeah, right." Whoever hear of a dog brush with retracting prongs that would eliminate the problem of cleaning out hair stuck in the bristles. But I felt it was worth a try since the price was quite reasonable. The brush arrived well packaged and undamaged. I immediately tested the retractable bristles, and much to my surprise it worked just as described! That is all well and good, but what about when those little capped prongs are full of dog hair? So, out on the deck we march, my Doberman and me. Fortunately he loves to be brushed and appears as if he would fall asleep on his feet as long as he is being brushed. The experiment began with the brushing commencing down his back, then legs, then belly and finally neck. Needless to say, the brush was quite full of dog hair when I finally stopped. Now for the real test. It was time to push the purple button on the back of the brush. With anxious anticipation and low expectations the button was pushed. But what to my doubtful eyes should appear, but a mat of dog hair resting atop the brush with bristles nowhere in sight! I simply brushed the little hair mat away. I have used this brush multiple times over the past 6 months with the same results, and it continues to work well. Usually I follow up brushing with a pair of grooming gloves with a rubber palm with nubby prongs. These gloves allow for deeper, massaging pressure releasing more hair. I use them so that I do not have to press too hard with the brush since my dog does not have a thick coat. I do not see this as a drawback to the brush, but some might. The brush is constructed of a sturdy plastic with an ergonomic handle. The button is easy to reach and to push with just one finger or the thumb while still holding the brush. Cleaning is simple; just retract the bristles and sweep the hair away. The retracted bristles contribute to easy storage. One can choose either soft (ends are topped with a tiny plastic cap) or the non-smooth (without the cap); I chose the soft capped bristles since my dog is short haired without an undercoat. Using this grooming tool, brushing my dog is a pleasure for both of us. I can recommend this product without reservation.Top 3 Likes:-Sturdy plastic with a easily manipulated button enabling bristles to retract and extend exactly as promised-Ergonomically sound in the hand and easy for an arthritic hand to use-Easily packed with other grooming tools in travel luggageTop 3 Dislikes:-Hair still needs to be brushed off of the surface-No instructions on how to clean the brush when it gets dirty (not with hair)-Does not get quite as much hair off as the grooming gloves do

Kitties LOVE This Brush
Although this brush doesn't get tons of fur from my 3 Ragdoll cats (who have very long fur), they each love it and purr while being brushed. That's a first for any brush we've used.Just wish it got more fur (it gets the finest fly away fur)

Dog likes it and it works.
This product makes it easy to remove hair from the dog, then the hair from the brush. My dog stays relaxed while I use it, so she seems to enjoy it. Good value. Good product that is durable enough for our use.

First time doodle owner and in love!
Like the title says I am a first time aussiedoodle owner and the first time using this type of brush, this thing goes amazing. It seems like it is very durable quality and I like the fact that you can retract the bristles to keep them protected it doesn't really do much for the shedding for me since he does not shed. After pricing many of these brushes the price of this one is a great value my dog does not mind he was 9 weeks when I started using it and he seems to kind of enjoy it it kind of calms him. I also like the purple color

Good for cats with one coat, gets all the fur safely.
It’s a big brush that’s gentle on my cats skin. I had another slicker brush but it was too rough and he hated it so much he refused to be brushed. The brush itself is very sturdy and the prongs (?) are safe for my cat who has short ish fur that sheds everywhere. Worth the price in my opinion.
