Perfect everyday strop
I use this in pair with a ceramic sharpening rod, it’s a great solid wood with adequate length for even some of my longer knives, the leather is properly adhered on either sides of the wood which was one of my greatest concerns, I feel like it will last me quite a while a while

High quality leather on both sides. Great strop for that final perfect edge
I sharpen knives and tools professionally, and I wanted a new strop for that final finishing polish. My other strop already has green honing compound on it, and so I plan to use the green compound that came with this Sharpal paddle strop on my other strop. The Sharpal strop is mounted on a wood paddle with a good handle and 8 inches of leather on each side. One side has high quality smooth leather, and the other side has a suede side, also high quality and thicker leather than I usually see on other strops. I needed several uses on the suede side to get a uniform surface feel. The smooth side is very uniform leather with no irregularities in the fine grain. The strop handle has a hole in it so that the strop can be hung in the workshop. Because I travel to sharpen, I store my strop in the sturdy cardboard box that it came in.The strop comes with an angle guide, although this has to be used with care to avoid cutting the leather. Place the angle guide at the end of the strop, with the appropriate angle facing away from the leather. Place your knife flat against the desired angle and carefully observe how the knife appears. Then remove the angle guide, set the knife at the memorized angle, and pull the knife so that it drags across the leather, with the edge trailing behind the blade. (Stropping methods are easier to watch on YouTube than explain in words.)After you have stropped a few times, you probably won't need the angle guide except as an occasional reminder. The green compound that comes with the paddle strop appears to be of good quality. Not too hard, not too soft. One of the photos shows the smooth side of the paddle. A ruler shows the length of the leather. The angle guide also appears, along with a Puma skinner knife made in 1971.The other photo shows the suede side, and also a tall petty knife made from pipeline steel by Dao Vua, a Vietnamese forger.I am very happy with this Sharpal 205H double-sided leather strop and expect to get years of use from it.

Want a sharp knife?
Sharpal stone does a great job in sharpening my knives. The angling puck help get you setup for the correct grinding angle. After a few passes on the coarse side and a few more on the fine side the knife cleanly cut paper with very little pressure. The leather strop added the final touch to getting the knife very sharp. After using the stone I noticed some pits in the stone, I'll be asking for a replacement.

Nice strop for the $
Nice strop. Price is as good as making one DIY but is finished with nice features (rough/smooth sides and a handle). Polishing compound does a good job. First use brought my sharp EDC folder to the next level.

Really great strop
I ordered this for my husband because he often sharpens his numerous knifes and his other strops just wasn't getting the job done. According to him, it's probably the best strop he has ever used and it hones the knives beautifully and gives a mirror appearance to the edge. Also it gives a real nice hone and sharpness to the knife to a very sharp edge. That's without the compound too. Highly recommend this strop if you want mirror and a lot of sharpness to your bade.

A top quality product at an excellent price.
I used it to polish my chisel after sharpening it on an 8000 grit Japanese stone, and it left an amazing looking finish.Apply the ointment to the rough side and go.You don't need to apply a lot of ointment. After you run your chisel or knife over the side with the paste, make a few passes over the fine side and you will get a perfect mirror finish.Buy this and you won't regret it.

Good strop for finishing knives
I have enjoyed using this little leather strop board to put the finishing touches on my knives. It comes with the leather strop, attached to a small block. The block has a couple non-slip pads attached to the bottom. It also comes with a stick of fine grit that you can rub on the leather and a angle guide. The angle guide is a little hard to use as it's just a little square piece of plastic with no great way to secure it to the knife or board.I don't even use it.Overall I like this little board. It gives you a good surface to hone and finish your knives after sharpening or to touch them up. I give it 5 stars for the added items, ease of use, and non slip underside. Would recommend!
