Review: An Easy Read And Wonderfully Written - I bought this book for my kindle today, and could not stop reading. It is surprisingly uplifting and joyful to read. In this world of craziness and uncertain times, it felt good to read a book that made your heart sing and pull for little Celia and her family. The ending was perfect! Bravo to Karen for sending such a positive message into the world! I would highly recommend this book, for any age. I am older but I still thought it was brilliant. Thanks for allowing your readers to believe in a little bit of magic in life. Review: Celia and the Fairies - I think Celia and the Fairies is fine reading for kids 8 to 13 or those of us who appreciate an easy read. Because it deals with issues of friendship, love, faith, and determination with a deft hand. It's ideal to read to even younger children, or even older ones with reading problems or who lack the sophistication to tackle books like Harry Potter. It instructs without scolding and even in the case of describing the misdeeds of Vicky McClutchy, an evil, nasty person, it doesn't do so in such a manner as to frighten even the youngest of children. Of course there's the magic and the fairies which we all love and, traditionally, it all ends happily ever after.

Celia and the Fairies
Celia and the Fairies sent shivers down my spine. First, I found this book drawing me into its swiftly unfolding plot where I seemingly became one of its increasingly defined characters. Then, as I grew along with Celia, I began wondering about her awakening ability to see, hear, and interact with beings out of phase with our here-and-now reality. Further, I especially was impressed with Celia productively using while normalizing or making invisible the manifestation of this ability whose growth and direction was nurtured by Celia's grandma and the fairy queen, Mira. I recommend this book for all children, but especially those who embrace imaginary worlds when these worlds intersect our world.

~~~BEAUTIFUL STORY~~~
I bought this book last night and started reading it and I could not put it down. I stayed up to finish the book because it is such an engaging and charming story. The characters are soo real and the descriptions of the fairies make them so vivid and real that you can almost see them yourself. This is such a beautiful story and such a enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book! All age groups will enjoy this book.
3.42 Stars Overall - Cute, Light Read - May contain spoilers
This chapter book would make a nice read for younger girls who like fairy tales. It's a pretty breezy read. Themes include the difference of making the right or easy choice, friendship, and loyalty, corrupt business practices, and so on. I thought Celia was kind of mean towards her friend Paul a few times, but that happens in "real life" too. I was a bit disappointed at the way the flute met it's end, considering it was at an adults' hand, but i guess at least the flute can't be at the center of any more trouble. It just seemed kind of dumb for an adult to cut something apart, that they knew was old, just to see how it worked... Overall, pretty cute story, though.
Magic!
This is such a darling book!! Celia(both young and old) are terrific characters, so sweet and open. It is a book you can read to toddlers and they will be a s enchanted as I was. One can just imagine Ms. McQuestion’s fingers putting off a spark of light with every keystroke. A MUST READ!!
a very sweet little book
Here's a book with something hard to find these days: a magical kid's tale without the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Celia and her family have problems - don't get me wrong. It's just that these problems don't involve anyone getting murdered, tortured, or kidnapped. And it's not that I didn't love Harry Potter. I did. (Still do.) But does every kid's book have to take things to the same extreme (or more)? No, and "Celia and the Fairies" proves that. You can still have a wonderful, engaging tale without supreme evil lurking around every corner. In this book, we are allowed to enter into Celia's life and her family's history. We get to see McQuestion's version of the fairy world and the role fairies play in our world. And we get to wonder how it's all going to work out in the end (we're pretty sure that it will). The chapters are short. Very short. I'd say that 3 pages per chapter is the average. This makes this book a nice transition book for bedtime stories if you're moving away from picture books. (As another reviewer mentioned, McQuestion does let the cat out of the bag about Santa, so if you're still maintaining that Santa is real, you'll need to re-word or skip that paragraph.) McQuestion also does that thing I remember from kid's chapter books when I was growing up, where the end of each chapter is a bit of a cliffhanger. All and all, a great little book. I definitely recommend it for ages 5 and up.
This is the third Karen McQuestion book I have read in the last two weeks. I loved this book in so many ways. I did feel it may be more suited for a younger generation....I am planning on recommending this book to one of my friends oldest child....she is 12 and will adore this book. I am still very glad that I had the opportunity to read this book....it made me feel like a kid again. I completely recommend all of Karen`s books....I am going to download another one right now. Great Read.
