Excellent backing adhesion and hood deadener heat shield insulation 236mil 4x6 (16sqft)
My 2000 Toyota Camry LE's OEM Hood heat shield insulation/deadener started deteriorating and pieces of it being peeled off so i decided for a DIY replacement project and bought this Abahub 236mil 4x6 (16sqft - measured first the size of my OEM Hood heat shield as there comes options in sizes). The package came at a very good condition nicely packed inside a plastic and rolled. I inspected the product as there were some reviews about damage/ripped aluminum foil and I am glad mine came in without a damage. Carefully unroll the sheet on a flat surface ( i used my garage floor) and gently flatten the surface (aluminum side facing the ground to prevent damage) and once evenly flat, flip the sheet aluminum now facing up and let it rest and prep for cutting to size matching the OEM from the car. I used sharpie pen to mark the holes and exact size to cut and I just used a medium size office scissor (very easy cut) don't use box cutter it would create a tear to the insulation padding and rip off the aluminum if dragged. There were 11 spots i marked for the location of the round push in clips (when i removed the 11 clips all of them broke and no longer usable but i always keep many clip parts for my vehicles). I was only able to get 4 out of 11 push clips to match the holes when i applied the insulation to the hood (not to worry, the backing adhesive will do the job to hold it together. OEM does not have backing adhesive, it was hold in place by the 11 push clips to the hood) I started from the top which matches the exact location of the top 3 holes allowing me to work without an extra pair of hands. I didn't push the new round clips just halfway and enough to hold the insulation sheet allowing me to access and gently peel off the backing adhesive cover to expose the adhesive part of the sheet. Worked my way from top slowly applying pressure to stick to the hood back surface and making sure the insulation sticks to the surface making sure there is no gap/air. Tip: if during the install, you accidentally damage or rip off a part of the aluminum heat shield, you can simply patch it with an industrial grade aluminum tape (commonly used in HVAC install/repairs). Ultimately, this product can be to cut to size, easy to install with enough thickness and insulation for heat and reducing engine sound/noise when driving the vehicle. I highly recommend, this product won't disappoint you.

Definitely buy if you're serious about insulation
This product is very well made and definitely high-quality. There is a kind of a string material laid into the aluminum backing which prevents it from overstretching and tearing. I found this to be very useful when installing considering I was walking on it and kneeling with my knees I never had an issue of tearing the glue is very strong so make sure you know where you're putting it because you won't be able to lift it up without destroying the foam. I use this to insulate a transmission tunnel and the entire floor of my vehicle there is absolutely zero heat radiating from my carpet now .The paper backing was hard to take off initially but I took the roll into my driveway and rolled it out completely paper side facing up in the Sun and 20 minutes later the glue was soft enough to easily peel the entire paperback off. So if you have issues peeling the paper just roll it flat and make sure you pull carefully because the the paper easily tears.

Not bad. Seems to be fair quality for the money.
This stuff is easy to use but kinda fragile. What mean is once cut the aluminum can get kinda torn up if your not careful. Highly recommend using foil tape on the edges where it might make contact around holes where wires come through and stuff. The thickness was okay. I was looking for something a little thicker but options are limited especially without spending a fortune. This seemed to be decent value for the money. This also came rolled up so the aluminum wasn't crazy wrinkled only semi. Mine did come with a hole couple feet which I was kinda mad about cause whoever packed the box knew this and just said f it and sent it anyways.... I talked to amazon and they reimbursemed me like $5 which was fair and I had enough material to finish the job. Reason I was mad is for general reasons for someone counting on the square footage and trying to plan days and timelines on projects and not being able to complete it and return this due to damage. Recap: decent value for the money, not super duty but it is pretty sticky which is nice but double edged sword cause once u stick it... It's stuck so don't mess up!

Good for heat and noise
I have used similar to this before for a number of heat shielding and noise reduction applications. Mostly on RV's on wheel wells, under the hood, on the "doghouse" of a van. If you are "hanging" it you might need to use some spray adhesive, like 3M. This time I have a Jeep Gran Cherokee with a the double sunroof, that is getting hot and making the ceiling hot even with everything closed up tight. It's just too hot this year for using the sunroof even in New England. Cut it and slid it into the gap of the sunroof cover. Didn't glue it, so it can be removed for winter, when I like the sun coming in. Really cut the heat!! Good stuff!

Easy to install
Really easy to install. I used the original liner as a pattern, cuts with scissors.

sticks well
Make sure that you have this where you want it before sticking it down. It sticks well, but if you need to pull it off to reposition it, it will rip and leave part of the mat. It does stick very well, so hopefully I will never have to remove it, otherwise it will be a big mess. I haven't run the engine yet to see if the noise level is reduced, but hopefully it will lower it.

Abahub 394 mil 21 sqft Car Hood Insulation Pad
This stuff is sticky, almost too sticky. Lol. I used it in a generator box and it does great at getting the sound levels lower.
