I've bought these many times. They're always excellent.
I've used these at home and in my restaurant. If you're only used to the near perfect small portion jars of bigger olives you usually get at a grocery store, these may not be your thing. I've you've travelled in Europe or studied Mediterranean or Middle Eastern cuisine, you'll love them. They're varied with a strong afterbite that makes them thoroughly authentic. I will grant you olives this size are generally served with the pits still in to keep them pretty. They're not going to have the same robust appearance larger olives have once pitted. But if you're mostly cooking with them, that won't matter. The pitting is convenient for bulk use and regardless of how star-quality they may or may not be visually, they are a top tier brine and flavor profile.

My favorite food
Love olives. And this brand looks and tastes good. Has very appealing color. It is always fresh just make sure to refrigerate after opening. It is sealed and easy to keep it sealed.

Great Packaging
After getting through the great packaging - meaning opening their container, the taste of the olives make you appreciate the thoroughness applied to keeping them fresh.

Not the best but good enough
The olives were in good condition when I opened the container. The container is unique in itselrf, as there are no seals and the top screws off to access a 2nd lid which pops off.The olives themselves were of various degrees of ripeness but all tasted fine. These would have been better if stored in red wine vinegar instead.

Amazing. Do as other reviewers suggest and dump the water inside and put in fresh spring water. My fridge will never be without a 'keg' of these. I make a Kalamata Chicken Casserole with Tinkyada Brown Rice Gluten Free Pasta Spirals that is to die for. I make this dish and can eat it for diner all week. With this Keg of Olives I put them on everything and makes many plain dishes come to life.Eggs Kalamata is standard now. While I did thing I got a lifetime supply they last about 1-2 months depending on usage. What is the best is to take a small bowl and have a little snack bowl in the fridge at all times of these....Just a small handful of these makes a great and healthy snack....For those wondering....if you were to buy this at 'Whole Foods / Whole Wallet" this same quantity would cost about $75 dollars or more. Sometimes I feel like i could open a restaurant with this giant tub of olives, it makes my kitchen feel like a supply house. These are good and again....Drain the juice and replace with water...do it a couple times if they are too salty for your taste....these olives are as good as good gets....also i have bought them for several people who are like "Are you serious with your keg of olives", then later they are like...."God...these are amazing and thank you...I eat them with everything"Now only if i can find fine parm cheese like I found these olives I'd be set.Happy Shopping. Loving Amazon Prime. Haven't gone to the grocery store in years now. Thanks to Amazon and Peapod.

Delicious, quality olives.
The flavor of these medium/small pitted olives are so delicious and not too salty at all and they come moist and plump in a plastic tub/jar. These olives are not swimming in brine like your typical olives. Because these olives have such an intense 'umami' flavor, you don't need very much for a single recipe. Be aware that these are NOTHING like regular black olives (not even close, comparing Kalamata olives to regular black olives would be like comparing Balsamic vinegar to distilled white vinegar---not even close[!]). If you mince a few of these up and add them to your garlic butter with some Parmesan cheese for garlic bread...super yum!Whatever you do, don't order these olives with items in the same order that are HEAVY because the plastic lid broke off of mine in my original order and the plastic jar was also busted open. What a mess (oily bits of olives strewn EVERYWHERE and on everything in the shipping box). Amazon replaced the damaged olives quickly and the replacement was in perfect condition (thankfully). This is the kind of item that really needs it's own box with extra insulated packing to reduce the risk of busting open if packed with a lot of other items within a bigger box.*Note: If you EVER have a problem with a food purchase from Amazon, never hesitate to contact them and they will replace the order or refund you. Just because they don't take food returns does NOT mean they won't do their best to make you satisfied with your purchase if you have a problem or issue with expired or damaged goods.
