We had it professionally installed by a plumber, outdoors by the main intake valve against the house. It works good, softens the water and removed the chlorine smell and taste.

Reasonable price compares with other systems. I've been using this unit a few months. It really reduces hard water buildup around my faucet & shower glass door. My skin is no longer dry out & itchy from the hard water in Palm Springs. I still see a little water spot from the dishes when it dries up, but it's easy to wipe it off. I had a professional plumber to stall the unit which cost $250 for 2 hours of labor. I recommended it my neighbor. He is happy with the unit.

I know it doesn't remove calcium, but the water does taste better, er, more like nothing, like a good water should; great for coffee. I've always had a very prickly beard, even after shaving; blades would only last 1 go. Now, not only is it smoother, but blades last 3 shaves (safety razor with viking blades). Kids don't care, of course, but I'm not crawling under the sinks to blow out calcium chunks from the fixtures and appliances every month. Literally had chewing gum sized clumps of red/white iron calcium deposits. Some of the fixtures are even beginning to speed up, which never happened with actuating faucet before.

Well water should use other method of water filtration such as whole house reverse osmosis water filters available from $463.55 ( cartridge replacement $288.00 every 200,000 gallons of water). This is a must have complementary water solution when combined with under sink reverse osmosis systems ( drinking water). Works great on Florida water. Cons ( Do NOT Buy) Does not remove viruses or bacteria from water. However for $349.99 dollars is money well spent. Reverse osmosis system can be purchase for as low as $200.00 with Alkaline water membrane so which helps fight immune system diseases. Professional plumbers installation charges varies from $250 to $350 including materials. Overall Do not buy product quality is trash it failed after 10 months of use causing me to spend over 400 dollars on plumber fees. Make yourself a favor go for better quality products. Customer service reply fast however would not replace faulty hardware. They would just give you the way around. I would not recommend trash product.

I purchased this item a short while ago and just got it installed today in a self install. I used pex pipe off of my copper line where my water softener had been and it took 3x trips to lumberyard but really was pretty easy install due to the mainline in a completely open unfinished area. We just moved to this house and were not use to the bad taste the water softener created in our opinion and this filter has improved the taste...we are not sure that it does everything it says and plan on watching our water outlets and see if any build up of minerals are forming after a few months. But so far seems to be an improvement.

Central MN has some pretty hard water, even from city water. Hoped this would have softened it enough, but wasn't enough and still had hard water.

We were looking for a whole house water filter system, and I think we found the BEST one! From the very beginning these folks were so helpful; they answered all of our questions regarding the product, installation and maintenance. They even mailed me instructions for maintenance after our contractor accidentally threw away the box. Now for the water softer, WOW! Our contractor installed the water softer and we noticed a difference immediately, no more smelly water! AND, no more water spots on our glass shower doors or in the dishwasher. Our skin is noticeably softer after a shower with no more itching or dry feeling from hard water! And the water is now clear in the glass, no more cloudy water! This product is a great size and the maintenance is simple! We are very happy with this purchase and the company, and the price is fantastic! A big thumbs up!

I installed this unit 3 months ago. I have been frequently noticing brownish water. My house uses tankless water heater and is installed with copper pipes. I can feel slight reduction of hardness on the water. But, this unit seems to be ineffective with reducing or eliminating sediments. I took a picture of the brownish water collected today. I am at a point having to look for other options for water filtration system. Just wanted to share this for folks who are considering this product. It might be ok to use this unit if your primary purpose is to reduce hardness rather than filtering water.
