5 STARS! WOW ! What a Shine !!
5 STARS ! WOW ! WOW !! THIS STUFF IS AWESOME. I needed to clean my Copper Hades Mechnical Mod to remove the patina.. Welp. it did just that, and in fact, my Copper Hades Mech Mod is like BRAND NEW AGAIN. I also tested this stuff on a 95 year old penny. Guess what? IT WORKS !!! If you don't believe me, and if you honestly think that spending currently ($25.86) for the 8.82oz. can of this stuff isn't worth it, it in fact is worth every penny.. lol. get it.. I said penny. Anyways, check out my video on this stuff, I actually did a 1080p video at 20Mbps of me cleaning a 95 year old penny. My video can be found by searching " Simichrome vs 95 Year Old Penny " on YouTube, that's the title of my video. It turned the old, abused, dirty 95 year old penny into what I think it would of looked like if you were to get this penny 95 years ago, when if first came out in circulation. I absolutely love this stuff, very nice to have around. OH, and another thing, those that say it doesn't work on Sterling Silver, in in fact does. I actually cleaned my best friends 32" 92.5% Pure silver necklace. He actually brought it to JC Penny like a few years back and they cleaned it for him. I said, how long has it been since you cleaned that thing.. He says it's been quite some time. I said let me see it. I took it, I layed a clean, white terry cloth on my knee, made it just one straight necklace, and dipped a little simichrome on the cloth on my knee, and drug it back & forth, back & forth threw the simichrome... guess what happened..? IT CLEANED IT ! You would not imagine the BLACK that came off that necklace. Boy o boy did that sterling silver shine by the time I was done with it.. Looked really nice. My friend said when he went to work the next day, he got all kinda of complements, some of them asking if he had gotten a new necklace.. he said nope.. my friend used Simichrome on it, and made it look brand new again, no bull s****. I kid you not. THIS STUFF IS VERY COOL. Must have if you have metal parts that need some cleaning. Makes things shine, if you buff the stuff, like what I did with the 95 year old penny, it will give it a mirror finish. Absolutely awesome. I actually head of the Mothers first, but then I read the comments about Simichrome being a little better.. So I did some research and watched some YouTube videos on this stuff, turns out Simichrome is not only better, but also more popular on YouTube than Mothers.

Great product to shine those tarnished, rusty, or corroded items!
One of the greatest metal polishes in the world! This product has been cleaning, polishing, removing rust, removing corrosion, and protecting finishes. When a blued gun needs a bit of rust removed or just needs cleaned this is the right stuff. When a brass candlestick needs restored to its bright shiny finish this product is the one. When your chrome plated, silver plated or gold plated items are looking old and worn, this is the right product to restore the shine. And the large container is the most economical way to purchase the product. Simply apply a thin coat to the item to be cleaned, and then use a toothbrush or cloth to buff to a sweet shine. Although some do not like the aroma of the product and suggest using it outdoors, I like the scent and it is not a lasting scent. So be aware and smell it yourself first and if it's too much for you simply use it outdoors rather than inside.

worked miracles!
A very highly rated ebay seller, who specializes in antique buttons, referred me to this product. I have been collecting Victorian buttons, and even earlier for decades. This seller's buttons were always pristine, and went for a small fortune! I thought, hmmmm, she has the secret for turning these antiques into real gems. I asked, and she recommended Simichrome. Well, I cleaned buttons that were truly BLACK with age and grime....turns out they were bright, beautiful brass with cut steel! I was amazed at how easily, well, and quickly the product worked! DO follow the manufacturer's directions though, the stuff IS caustic, but works fantastic, and didn't smell bad either. I have sensitive skin and could not wear gloves to work with small pieces, but it didn't bother me. GREAT product, will buy again!

Simichrome purchase
I have used Simichrome to polish silver in the past so I know that it is a quality product. The disappointment came when I open the can it was more than half empty, especially given the hefty price. It didn't look used, it just looked empty. The can says "filled by weight" but I have no way of weighing 8.82 oz. I ended up using it anyway because I really needed it at that moment but I'm not sure why the quantity was lacking. Maybe I just got a bum batch? I have bought this size can in the past and it was more full when I opened it. Note on my rating: The product itself is five stars, but the quantity was only one star so my rating is an average and should be taken in context.

Ladies, stick with the tube!
I always love my simichrome, and I have yet to ever run out of a tube...instead - because I carry it with me everywhere - I tend to lose a tube once in a great while. I bought the tub this time and figured that a.) How can you lose a huge tub of chrome polish? and b.) I will make little to-go cups with me for my jewelry-hunting and vintage plastic testing outings... I cannot give any less than 5 stars because the product remains the best of the best - but I should have stuck with the tube. It took me a wile to become accustomed to opening the lid - although now I keep a steel flat head utensil nearby and "pop" it open. The smell is overwhelming so for for my uses it is simply too much of a good thing. I tend to make a mess with it while trying to work with q-tips and not be wasteful. I nearly got a blob on the poor cat's tail the other day. I have yet to conquer re-closing the tub. (although there are many dents in the top where I tried a million ways each time before giving up and allowing my husband to close it up and have a good laugh at my expense. I am unsure what he does but he manages to get it re-sealed. Left to my own devices, it would likely be a dried up mass by now. This was a bad decision on my part but should not dissuade others with large jobs (large areas of silver, chrome, cars, handles, pipes etc.) from buying it in this way as it is a good deal. For a little woman looking for very little treasures, I should have stuck it out with the tube! Oh, and I also have yet to find a suitable "to-go" case that I can transfer a blob that I can reseal without: drying it out, getting it all over EVERYTHING, and being able to use it quickly for my needs when out and about and not trying to draw attention to my pink q-tip testing the surface of things for sale at junk shops :) Still, it bears repeating, that simichrome is the ONLY chrome polish - nothing compares and I will undoubtably have this tub throughout the next decade as it lasts forever!

Don't buy the big 250 gram can! You will hate it!
This review is for JUST the 250 gram can. This is stellar polish (10 stars!) but the big can it comes in is a disaster. I thought it would have a screw-on lid, but it is built like a paint can - you have to pry it open by working a screwdriver around and around, and it is darned tight! The lip ends up being all bent and deformed, and there is no way the can will remain airtight after a few uses. If air gets to the polish it will dry out and be useless. Because it is so costly, I transferred all the contents to five small prescription pill bottles. That way I can use one at a time and the full ones will hopefully remain fresh for many years. The 250 gr size either needs a new can design, with easy to close lid, or a really big squishy tube... In the meantime, I recommend that folks order the muli-packs of small tubes to avoid this hassle. JD Spokane WA

It does an amazing job and it doesn't take much to do it
Can't beat the polish. It does an amazing job and it doesn't take much to do it. I bought the 250 gram tin, because I use it frequently. But, the top to the canister is thin and with repeated openings and closings it may not hold up. But, so far, so good. Good stuff!!!
