Vax S86-SF-CC Steam Fresh Combi Classic Multifunction Steam Mop & Genuine Hook and Loop Microfibre Cleaning Pads (Type 1)

This is our 4th identical S86 vax - so we know personally its definitely not a 'one-off' problem. All purchased from different suppliers both high street and online. The first 2 packed up within 7 months - both with the same problem. They stopped producing steam and kept leaving trails of small cold puddles all over the floor. Both were replaced and the identical thing happened 5 months later so then they were out of warranty. The next one which was purchased directly from Vax ,was faulty on arrival. The hand held steam section would not unclip as it was stuck fast in place and couldnt be ejected, so that was returned and exchanged. After a year It then developed the same fault as the previous machines. I know we appear to be glutens for punishment but actually we really liked the product when it worked and we kept hoping we would be luckier the next time. Wrong!!. The last and final try - this time it was faulty on arrival. It had a blue power light when plugged in and thats all it had - it never heated up and when the trigger was pressed it wouldnt even dispense cold water! So sadly we have absolutely no faith in the brand. My advice is dont buy it!... unless you enjoy wrapping up and repackaging broken machines.

Purchased on a whim in black friday deals, and I was very lucky! It is really good. Previously I had owned a shark brand mop. It just did the floor and it was brilliant, until it broke. I replaced with a cheap "triangle" head mop, utter rubbish so was a bit concerned about this vax one.Pros-lightweight-easy to use-Long lead-even my teen can use it!-It is so easy to fill up, the removable water container makes life so easyCons-I dislike having to pull leaver to get steam when doing the floor. I prefer it just on, as my hand cramps and often refuses to grip-i would like two floor cloths to be provided, as I would rather wash than reuse and I have two small children, so daily steaming around the table is a must.-the window attachment undoes while you are using it, which is rather frustrating (I will admit I was using this attachment to clean sticks handprints from doors, but I did have to keep clicking it back into place)I have not used the detergent, because I cannot see a need (if steam is 100% sterile, why do i need the detergent?), big spills or dirt get cleaned by hand as soon as they are made anyway.I would recommend and i would buy again

Had this for two years, it’s been more than useful on a daily basis. I’ve cleaned almost anything and everything with it, but was really impressed with my kitchen floor, it looked like the day it was laid fifteen years ago! Going to buy one for my sons new home.

This product stopped working after a few months - no steam coming from the base unit & the detergent not dispensing. On contacting vax customer service - they were rude and unhelpful - refusing to take the product back and issue a full refund. I would urge anyone NOT to purchase this product.

This product has changed my life! Or my cleaning time at the very least. It has saved me time and money too. I was contemplating replacing the linoleum toFloor in the bathroom as I couldn't get it clean using cleaning products, scrubbing brushes or even bleach. This steam cleaner has brought it up like new. Works brilliantly on grout and tiles too. Freshens up carpets and has cleaned deep ground in dirt from all kinds of hard surfaces to the point they look new.

Total rubbish. Cheap and very very nasty. The steam trigger packed up after 6 months and the steam jet was reduced to more of a trickle soon after. The attachments are a joke. One broke a week after I bought it. Don’t throw your money down the drain it will end up in the bin sooner than you think. Thought Vax was a decent make before I bought this. Not anymore!!!!

Handle has snapped whilst in use after only 2 months of use. I initally thought this was a great item but very disappointed

I love this. I clean my floor regularly with it and it does it so quickly and makes a great job. I have also steam cleaned our dog bed after the cat weed on it and it seems to have got rid of the smell. I tried it on my windows but I think it was more user error that meant they were left a bit streaky. Think I would need to practise my technique.
