The real deal. Bubbly probiotic goodness.
Okay this is some good water kefir. I'm no expert, this is my 1st go at making my own water probiotic. But this stuff was very cost effective and beginner friendly. This keifer came with a filtered bag, very clear "care for" directions. I did watch a few YouTube videos so I kinda had an idea of what to expect. But if I was going in blind, this kit would have every thing needed to get started. I started off with 1/4 of a cup of grains, and I already have like a cup and a half of the water kefir grains. And I've only been at it for a month. My grains are healthy and growing well. I got a chance to read some of the negative reviews of how people were saying that the grains were very tiny and seeping right through the filter. I can confirm that this is true. I started off with some big chunky bits but as the kefir began to grow they grew into these little tiny things that would definitely seep through a regular filter. Because I read this negative review I was able to get ahead of it by buying a tea filter (Finum Reusable Stainless Steel Coffee and Tea Infusing Mesh Brewing Basket, Large) It was no problem draining the liquid using this tea filter and I was able to retain a lot of the culture and not lose it by drinking it all. I included a video where I put the water kefir grains in coconut water, molasses, baking soda and sugar. I'm almost positive that was probably wrong. Moving forward I always kept the water kefir grains in (just water sugar baking soda and molasses), then I did half and half of whatever I wanted to flavor with. So I would do 1cup keifer runoff to 1cup of fruit juice, I found the measurements work good for coconut water as well. So one cup of coconut water to one cup of water kefir, and that is how I made coconut water kefir to keep the integrity of the grains. I did this because I did notice the grains were a little lethargic after I had put directly in coconut water so decided not to do that moving forward. I wish I could have added another video of the end product. My probiotics soda was bubbling it was perfect like coconut soda, has a taste of beer plus what ever flavor added. My favorite recipe YOU MUST TRY is squeeze the juice of lemon and blueberry to make (1 cup of blueberry lemon juice) to (1cup of RUN OFF) of water keifer not into grains. Let ferment for 2 days then put in the fridge for 2days then drink. Cheers bubbly goodness.

Very Good Kefir water grains
These water kefir grains are by far the best grains I’ve purchased thus far. If you follow the instructions provided within the package , your grains will produce a very good Kefir water and will multiply with time.

Works for making water kefir at home.
New to water kefir, but trying to avoid $4/single serving bottle from grocery. I have made dairy kefir in past. I am using a 1/2 gallon ball jar(bought a set of 4 on Amazon for this purpose). I am cycling twice/week for fermentation time. It is a little bland/sour and adding some flavor helps palatability. The grains themselves seem healthy/productive. I have been doing this for 10 weeks and have not seen a significant increase in size or population of the grains. I bought 4 jars in case the grains grew and I needed to split the starter, but that has not occurred yet.

2nd purchase, Excellent product.
This is the 2nd time I've purchased kefir grains from this supplier. I'm equally impressed. I let my previous grains die because I stopped drinking kefir for many months. These new grains were just as viable as my last grains. With new grains, the fist batch or two of kefir isn't all that great, but by the third batch, these little grains are all plumped up, and are converting sugar water into water kefir like nobody's business! It has been less than a week, and my grains have more than doubled. So I split them, and I'm now making 2 quarts at a time. I always add about a teaspoon of Molasses and use 1/4 cup of sugar per quart. I also use tap water, but I let it sit for a day to get rid of the chlorine before I add the sugar, molasses, and kefir grains. I'm going to have to find someone to give my extra grains to, because I can only drink so much kefir! The kefir is done when it's a little sour and smells rich and yeasty. I strain the kefir water into a blender, and put my grains into sugar molasses water to start my next batch. Then I add small amount of any fruit and cinamon, maybe a little sugar or keto sweetener into blender the blend it. Then I pour into bottles and let it ferment overnight. It magically turns into delicious fizzy, natural, probiotic soda!

No growth at all despite following instructions
No growth even after 12 days, just a filmy substance on top of the water sugar molasses mixture. I followed instructions to the letter immediately on package arrival. Must track package as mine arrived one week earlier than Amazon projected and I got no notification, which is atypical for Amazon. I will update my review if I get any additional information from the seller and/or achieve any success.

Great homemade probiotic drink
I've been using this for some weeks now and getting regular batches of water kefir, and they are turning out great. I would definitely recommend trying water kefir, and buying them from this seller. Be patient with your first few batches, I think mine took 3 or 4. Now I am doing second fermentation with fruit etc and it's great. My reason for dropping a star: I found the directions provided and the pdf to be more unhelpful than useful. Example.... the directions state they must be in a temp a good 10 degrees warmer than my house. I nearly just threw them away because no way was I upping the temperature that high. The PDF isn't a 55 page booklet as I expected but draws in directions for making water kefir from mutiple sources, all giving a variety of methods and temps. So basically, I ignored them (or rather realized there are no really hard & fast rules, some trial and error gets good results!) I have made milk kefir for a while so learned to experiment. So for my success: In a glass jar with an air tight lid: I use 1/4 cup grains with a little less than a quart of filtered water. No distilled or purified as it needs minerals. I add 1/4 of raw sugar (dissolved in warm water and cooled before adding). Optional: add ginger or a few raisins. Room temp (mine is 68-69). 24 - 48 hours. Drain & save grains. I drink as is, add to iced tea or add juice. 2nd ferment: pour into another airtight jar or bottle, add fruit, ginger, raisins etc. 24 - 48 hours. Will get very fizzy so allow to room at the top of the jar! Update: After a few months, I noticed that my grains don't grow any bigger. They are still very small, smaller than rice grains. Others that I bought from another source grew in quantity and size of grains, but for these, the 1/4 cup I bought is still 1/4 cup. I am not sure why. I thought at first it was the conditions (maybe not warm enough, or something) but my others are getting like the nuggets shown in the photo for this product page so not entirely sure about that.

Supper Bubbly!
Excellent. Buy it. It makes the best water kefir. I have done a second ferment with different fruits: pineapple, cranberry, grape. The result is the bubbliest water kefir I've ever tasted. Worth every penny.
