V60 "Fretta" Hot and Iced Coffee Maker, 700ml, Black

My first foray into pour over coffee after a few month's research. I decided on this model because it can make both iced and hot coffee. So far, I have made iced coffee a couple of times, and hot coffee in it almost every morning since it arrived a couple of weeks ago. I am still working on my pour over skill, but I really like the clean coffee it makes and the brightness it brings out. This works very well for iced coffee. The dripper has an additional layer to disperse coffee over ice in raindrops style, making the ice melt evenly into the coffee. The ratio takes the ice into account for a perfect strength and temperature. Coffee is definitely brighter than cold brew and doesn't need any milk. I still like a little sweetener in it. This is a good alternative to Aeropress when needing a quick iced coffee. The carafe is nice when you are sharing with a friend. And it doesn't require the long term planning skills that cold brew does. (BTW, Hario cold brew carafe is also highly recommended.) My next purchase will be a proper v60 dripper that I can use directly on top of the cup for hot coffee. I know I don't really need it since this one works ... But.... er... I want it.

This version of iced coffee brewing works much faster than trying to do a complete cold brew, where you need hours to let the ice melt over the grounds and then drip through. This kind of iced coffee also tastes much better than the mason jar recipes where you soak coffee in water for a few hours to overnight before filtering for use. It tastes good for a home brewed iced coffee, although you will need to work out the exact measurements that you want to use for your iced coffee. The glass carafe is awesome as well, since it comes with a lid that has a pour spout, so you can easily make a whole carafe full of iced coffee and store it in your fridge.

The ratios are just perfect. Delicious iced coffee in 5 minutes. Use a normal pour over technique and it is amazing. I've also found that rinsing the filter is worth it. Makes a big difference in the taste. This product is super easy to use and super easy to clean. If you like iced coffee or are looking to enjoy coffee a new way. This is the way to go. I roast my own beans and use this and it is an awesome summer beverage.

I've not yet used it for iced coffee due to weather. Works well for hot coffee and you need paper cone filters. It comes with 30.

I have been making iced coffee my way for long time, That is almost the same way with this ice coffee maker without this tool. This way is a lot easier and I can always make tasty iced coffee. I drink lot of ice coffee in the summer. I need to make more than 4 cups, so I make 650ml of iced coffee with 50g dark roasted coffee beans with this ice coffee maker. The ice cube strainer doesn't hold a lot of cubes, so I add extra 5,6 ice cubes in the strainer while dripping coffee. I drip coffee until 750ml and take off the dripper. If the ice coffee is still warm, I add a couple of ice cubes to make the coffee colder and take out strainer before all ice cubes are gone. I am very happy to purchase this ice coffee maker. I will enjoy my favorite ice coffee now!!

I bought this for my husband for his birthday - we love iced coffee. I had been looking at other iced coffee "makers" but didn't want to spend a ton of money or have to wait overnight to get just a cup of coffee. This iced coffee makers is very easy to use - put ice in the center tube, add a filter, dump some grinds in and pour hot water over the grinds. In just a few seconds, you have iced coffee. There is also a top that comes with the iced coffee maker, so if you aren't drinking immediately, you can put straight into the fridge.

I LOVE this coffee maker! An incredible value at a great price. I like cold press coffee but it lacks the flavors you find in traditionally brewed coffee in which the hot water extracts the oils from the beans. Also, cold press coffee is concentrated and can sometimes be a little tricky finding the right strength for drinking. In addition to instant cold coffee without the 12-24 hr wait, this is the perfect pot for hot pour over coffee for 1-3 people. Wonderful when company is over and a couple people want some decaf with desert. Also, I have had awesome success making iced and hot tea with this. I brew the leaves in a mug to the correct strength and then filter out the leaves into the carafe. I have told MANY people about this product. This makes a fabulous and affordable gift!
