Knotty Boy Dreadlock Shampoo Bar

My husband and I both love this product. We will actually be switch to only using this bar soon for both of us. (He just hasto finish up the bottles we already bought, I only use the bar now). I love that we aren’t making more trash with bottles, it’s super simple to use and lasts forever!!!! (Like any bar soap) And it’s tiny! I don’t like having a ton of stuff in the shower. And it Smells great!!!I have partial dreads and getting more soon and my husband have very short hair with no plans for dreads and loves this shampoo too. If you have loose hair with dread like me I would suggest getting a good conditioning quality hair mask and using when your hair is feeling a little dry, but please don’t let the mask get in your dread especially baby dreads! But please please look up how to use the bar soap too! You have to get it super sudsy in your hands before putting it on your scalp and wash your scalp not your hair. Do nit just rub the soap on your head because this is a very concentrated shampoo. I watched a YouTube video on how to wash your hair properly with bar shampoo, it helped so much. I wash my hair once a week. I have to wash my hair 2 times usually but if its super dirty 3-4 times, just focusing on my scalp. That is the point of this bar is to clean your scalp. But if your hair is dirty by all means clean your hair but wash it out really really well.Also using this bar soap has actually helped mature my dreads faster. My loctician told me that bars are actually better for maturing your dreads. I can’t remember why it’s better but she said that it helps them mature for some reason.I can control the amount I am putting on my scalp/ hair. Please start with less then you think you need, wash it out and start again. Everyone has their own technique for washing their dreads and partial dreads. But the bar seems to be tricky for allot of people but it is a great option for helping your dreads mature faster. Just actually read the directions and not wing it. Even if I didn’t have dreads I would still use this shampoo. It’s cleans really well and less waste on the environment and less clutter in the shower.

Don’t wash your dreads by rubbing the bar against it. If you do, you will see residue build ups in a few months. A shampoo bar can be one of the most pure, and 100% residue free shampoo you will ever find. Sadly, it will still leave residue in your hair if you use too much of it. Only difference is that this bar takes longer for the residue to build.Let the soap foam up on your hand, and work your way from the top of your skull to the bottom of your skull. Ensure it stays on the scalp, and that it is not too lathered. Quickly get under the water before the soap drys out, and evaporates. As you stand under the shower, let the water run the soap through your dreads. Rinse it for 7- 10 minutes. For longer dreads, it will be 10 minutes, or more if it’s resting on your hip. Only use this bar once a week to twice a week, because it strips away a lot of oil from your scalp.I dislike the fact that it requires more work to get it out of my dreads, but I do like the cleansing it gives my dreads.To end this edit with a full answer:I’d rather use this shampoo bar once a week, than to use liquids three times a week. This is tried and true product and there isn't much not to love. It's great at giving your hair a complete clean and lather. It smells amazing and doesn't break down as quick as other dread shampoo bars I've gotten. It also seems to help moisturize my dreads just a bit...like just the perfect amount of moisturizing they need to look nice.I use to buy dread bars off of etsy, and for one this soap is obviously cheaper...but it smells pretty much exactly the same...but my hair feels WAY cleaner and way lighter afterwards. I felt the other shampoo bars left a lot of residue. I use beeswax from time to time for rolling and it does a great job of getting that out.

So this is the very first shampoo bar Espically for locks I've used and I'm hooked!! In August my locks will be 1 year, and this bar has made a huge difference. Although I've only used it once I can tell numerous things #1 my hair is softer #2 my scalp feels 100 times better #3 my locks are tighter just to name a few things. I would absolutely recommend this product, though I don't know any other white people with locks haha. I will update my review after several uses!! Update to my review! This $14 bar lasted me literally 1 year!! I don't understand the feedback saying this bar left residue ?? All I can recommend it rinse your locs better haha I still have no complaints and purchasing another bar! I will say I have over 200 dreadlocks to wash and this bar lasted me over a year. I got the Knotty Boy Dreadlocks Shampoo for my husband who has dreads. He is very satisfied with this bar soap and he has been using it for awhile now. What he liked about is tgat the Knotty Boy Dreadlocks Shampoo is made out of all natural ingredients which get the job done as far as getting deep into the dread and scalp and cleaning it. The all natural ingredients make it great for dreads as they are not exposed to any harmful chemicals.The soap washes off nicely and doesn't leave any residue. It smells minty and earthy at the same time. The smell does linger in the dreads for a bit after washing. My husband thinks he's found the right fit for his dreads and is very happy with the purchase.

I started my dread journey about 4 months ago. I had done soooo much research on how, when, with what to wash my baby locs with. I ordered this product and it came right on time. I used it for the first time last night and today my hair is so soft and smells amazing. It has a very nice smell. Very earthy but clean (that’s what I smell anyway). I would recommend this product. I also was having a hard time learning how hard and how to get my scalp clean. The bar makes it much easier. 4 STARS... if the bar had a string or some type of way to hold onto it better I’d go 5 STARS!

i have literally fallen in love with this product!!! i had to wash my hair with it as soon as it arrived because it smelt so lovely! most of my dreads are only a few weeks old and my previous shampoo had made a lot of them very loose and almost fall out so i had to do them again. i was a little worried that this would happen again as they are so new but with this shampoo bar they held together really well. my scalp feels amazing and my hair looks so healthy and clean, its brilliant stuff! a few people have mentioned the price in their reviews, and to be honest this put me off buying it when my hair was only partially dreaded, but now i've tried it i feel this product is great value for money...it looks like it will last forever, and when you weigh up the cost of buying normal shampoo's before dreaded hair it probably works out the same if not cheaper. i would recommend this product to everyone!!!!

So far I have had no problems with this product (it is what it says it is). It does get quite foamy but if contained right its alright. My hair actually feels a lot more healthy and thicker after use where my dreads look the best lol for some reason may be because they hang down which I eventually want it to get like. If there are any problems I will put it on but for the 2 times Ive used it in the last 2 weeks its been cleaning it well.

fast delivery, product smells great, bought as a present for my daughter, but i know she'll love this, the free dread rings were a lovely surprise too.

The peppermint in the soap helps soothe itchy dreads, not greasy at all. It is a bit more expensive than other dread soaps but the bar is twice the size. Would recommend this product to anyone with dreads.

Washed my dreadlocks with it and Its smells sooooo much nicer than Liquid Castile Soap, but it dries my skin so bad. Will work for someone who don't have sensitive skin and not tend to have dandruff :(
