A Survival Guide for New Special Educators

Truly the best manual for new and not so new ed specialists
I am a veteran ed specialist and teach several courses at the graduate level to new special education teachers- this is the only book I recommend. I hope a new edition comes out soon. This is clear and helpful. It includes a reference to all the laws and legal requirements we need to know and has valuable instructional strategies by disability and by topic in a quick easy to access format. I have purchased several books with similar titles- this is the only one I give to all my new teachers. THANK YOU!

I need this book for a class
The book appears to be in good condition. But I haven't used it yet, because my class hasn't started.

Excellent Reference Book.
This is an excellent reference book for a first year SPED teacher. It was really easy to follow and reference specific information. I think it will be really helpful through my first year. Had some great suggestions for communicating to parents and GenEd teachers. It also has tons of SPED website to find more information. I think it was well worth the money. I will try and do an update after using it my first year to comment on how often I used it.

Good for new and experienced special needs teachers
I am a fairly seasoned special needs teacher but feel that there are few "go-to" books for the special setting of special needs children. This book is good for the new teachers and those who have been in the classroom for a while but may want to have a primer on hand as a review tool.

Great book for beginning SPEDucators!
Lots of informative information about all aspects of SPED. The book delved into teaching specific subjects, dealing with parents, setting up your classroom... Only wish there were deeper resources to refer to after reading the chapter!

BIG THUMBS UP!
Fully recommend this book especially if you're starting to apply for teaching jobs. There's a chapter in this book that gives you hints about what to answer during interviews to giving you bonus web content that the book will provide.

Packed with info.
Written for the american teachers, however don't let this fact put you off buying it. It is packed with lots of useful information. Best of this is links to websites for further information, such as research and teaching resources. Well worth the money. A good reference book.
