My hard-of-hearing husband loves battery-operated alarm clocks, which tend to have two characteristics that annoy me (with perfect hearing, especially in the dead of night) but not him: a loud TICK TICK TICK and an alarm like a bomb blast. This is the ONLY one he has ever found that DOES NOT TICK! I love this clock! Also, the quietly ascending alarm feature is perfect since it gently wakes me up just enough to nudge HIM awake, and then I can go back to sleep. This is vastly preferable to being projected from my pillow onto the ceiling fan in 3 seconds, as other 10-fire-alarm clocks tended to do. There is no control over the volume of the alarm, so I could not award 5 stars in this category, as it did not apply to this clock. Everything else is 100% perfect. Best alarm clock ever!

Just bought this product. Works fine, which of course is expected. It is not made of very strong materials. For my use (on my nightstand), this will be just fine. But if you want to also take this with you on business trips, camping, etc., I would spend a few extra dollars for a more-robust clock. Alarm is not super-loud...just fine for my own needs. But not designed for someone with any sort of hearing impairment. My girlfriend is very happy that this is a clock that does not make a 'ticking' sound with the seconds hand. Our old clock did this--I found that constant soft sound relaxing, while my g/f found it annoying. This is a truly silent clock. It takes two AA batteries, while many clocks only require one. But since I assume the batteries will last a year or more, this is a negligible extra expense. Note: the price seems to rise and fall every few days. If there is no rush to buy, I'd suggest waiting a day or two till it's at its lowest price (in Oct 2019, that would be $6.99). Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. (Obviously, I'll update if the clock breaks in the near-future.)

would give it 5 stars but the alarm on/off switch does not work.i have to constantly keep moving the alarm set arm around twice a day so the alarm doesnt go off.if im gone for a day or longer i have to take the batteries out so the alarm doesnt go off while im away.paid $7 so its not worth returning.maybe i got a defective one.all in all its what i was looking for as far as size and look.but i will eventually get a better one that has a working on/off alarm switch.i have lost my trust on tinload products.ive been looking at a few seikos and bulovas.as the old saying goes,you get what you pay for.

It is light weight and is good for travel. The increasing volume of the alarm insures wake up. Made of plastic which is good but the battery door will not stay shut. Had to tape it on. It made more sense to tape the battery door shut vs. paying to return it. In addition, the clock calls for 2 batteries and the battery bin is too large for two batteries. During travel, any type of bump or jolt will break the battery contacts loose stopping the clock. If you purchase this clock I recommend that you Fill the battery compartment with foam rubber or similar.

I needed a clock for my night stand and I wanted a mid century modern look. This one is perfect. I love that it is not illuminated all of the time. It keeps time accurately and is quiet. Even the brown color is good. I love it.

I got this alarm clock because I would sleep through my phone alarm sometimes. When I first got it I was very happy with it because it woke me up. But one day (good thing I set my phone alarm as a back up) I realized that the alarm sound stopped working while the clock itself was still running fine. I thought maybe that the battery was almost running out so I replaced it but the alarm still didn't ring. Maybe I got a defective one or the life of the alarm is that short. I'm just really bummed because now it's just a clock.

I I really like this clock. It looks nice, has a nice big snooze button and the light works well for reading it at night. The alarm is not too jarring. It runs totally silently.

Alarm sound is not abrasive and love that the clock itself is silent. It really looks like plastic, I expected it would a bit more solid. That being said I really like it.
