BOSS Audio In-Dash CD/DVD/DM Bluetooth Receiver BV9386NV (Renewed)

I got this unit because it was plug-compatible with an earlier Boss receiver whose GPS stopped working. This one has good sound, like its predecessor, but it too has had a little difficulty getting into GPS mode reliably. After a couple of weeks in the car, it seems to have it figured out. Physical installation was straightforward. The unit was reconditioned, and its map was apparently not updated as part of the reconditioning process; they should reconsider that. The remote control works, but really, why? I haven't tried the other features; when you're driving, you should just drive.

I was a little apprehensive about buying a refurbished stereo but this one worked out well. My audio was already set up with RCA cables going to my amp for the front and back and the quick connect wiring harness that came with the stereo already had labels on wires. Effortless install and works great. Plus I like having the remote to operate the stereo.UPDATE!!! I have had this stereo installed for a couple of months now. There is an obvious power supply issue internal to the unit. Sometimes it will cut on and off on its own. Other times, it will not turn on at all causing me to have to remove the stereo, unplug the harness and plug it back in to work. I've have verified that the wiring is correct and that ground is solid. Further digging into the possible issues resulted in finding out that BOSS audio has inadequate quality control and they do not stand behind their product in resolving the issue. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING BOSS AUDIO no matter how good the price looks. Save yourself the heartache and frustration and save up to buy a better unit from another manufacturer. As soon as I scrape together enough funds to replace this paper weight that has disguised itself as a car stereo, I will.UPDATE #2!! I returned the item under warranty for a refund. It was approved, but the seller charged a $95 restocking fee!!! On an item that does not work!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FROM THIS SELLER!!! They wasted my time with their product and now have done what I consider is theft!

Incomplete missing the touch PEN

The gps voice is noisy and the bluetooth is losing the signal for a few seconds and coming back, the music stops and comes back.

I really like this model. Has all the features I want, we have one in each car. Updating GPS not bad.
