Pros and cons to everything-this case included
This is a good case because at the end of the day, you aren't going to hurt your phone from taking it out into the elements, which includes water, dust, snow, or a big drop. That being said, you are going to sacrifice ease of access to all the ports and jacks from your phone in order to do that. So keep that in mind when purchasing this kind of case. The headphone jack has a screw in port so you can still maintain the waterproof feature while listening to music? I wouldn't dare try this out myself as iPhones are too darn expensive to play with them like that. However, theres the option to. So my 4 star rating is for the sacrifice of ease of use of the jacks. Otherwise this case does exactly what it says its going to: protect your phone from the elements. As a longtime Amazon customer, I rely on reviews from the Amazon community when making buying decisions. That being said, I only believe in giving honest and unbiased reviews. Best case to get to protect your iPhone from yourself
I'm pretty hard on my phones. I'm a klutz of the highest order and drop my phone more often than is probably prudent. I'm also an active hiker and wanted something I could take outside without worry. The Fre case from Lifeproof works absolutely as advertised. I've dropped my phone onto a concrete hockey arena floor and it was still fine (don't do this on purpose though :). It's also survived a drop onto my kitchen tile floor from about 5 feet up. The phone is also waterproof so it can rain on it all day and nothing will happen. The two things that may annoy people are that you can't use just any charger cable or headphones with this. It has to be the original Apple cable that your phone came with because anything else won't fit. The case completely encases the iPhone and if your charger isn't thin like the original Apple version cable, it won't reach the port. The headphone/headbud port is protected by a screw-in top that a regular headphone stem won't be able to reach. Luckily, the case comes with an adapter that screws into the port and that you can then plug your headphones into. If you are a runner and want to use the Lifeproof case while running, that headphone adapter would bug you. I don't use my iPhone to listen to music. I use my Nano for music so this problem doesn't matter to me but it could be a factor for other people that do use their phones exclusively for their music. The thing with the ports is that they do need to be that far in and slightly inaccessible. It's what keeps the case truly waterproof. The last thing that might be of concern is that the first time you put the case on, it seems that the control buttons on the side (volume, silent switch) and the power button on the top will be stiff and hard to press. After continuous use, the buttons become easier to use and eventually press easily. I estimate this took about a month. It's disconcerting at first but the buttons do soften up.There are no issues with using any of the screen functions. Everything responds just as quickly as it would without the case on. The Touch ID also works just fine.Even with the little snafus regarding the ports, I highly recommend the case. I got it for the sole purpose of protecting my iPhone from myself and it does a top-notch job of that. I've had it out in the rain using the GPS while I hike and dropped it numerous times as detailed above and it came out smelling like a rose.

You can bet your life on a Lifeproof!
I love Lifeproof and it's seriously the only phone case I trust to put my phone baby in. It really does work! I take it in the shower with me sometimes so I can catch up on some Netflix while I'm washing my locks. Paired with a Bluetooth speaker, and you've got a waterproof shower TV! (Granted, I'm not completely immersing the case. It rests on a shelf on my shower head caddy.) I've dropped it probably 10000 times -- dropped it in snow, dirt, and mud one time (mud was not fun to clean up though, and I would recommend being extra careful around muddy areas -- BUT IT STILL WORKS!)How much more do I need to say to properly sell this thing? Ive had my case for almost a year and it's gotten a real beating... the only downside is that the screen protector isn't hard plastic. I accidentally dropped a tool on the screen and it left a little circle crack on the glass. Major bummer... but all things considered, it's protected my phone through worse and I wouldn't recommend any other phone case to a friend. The only other downside is that the sound quality isn't the best like it would be with the phone out of the case. The watertight barriers that protect the speakers muffle sound. I sometimes can't hear my phone when it's in my pocket, and it's a little difficult to hear someone when you've got your ear up to the listening part. But since I'm usually using headphones, this problem doesn't always bother me.

A must have for me.
I have had two of these cases for my iPhone 4s over my 4 years of owning the phone. INVALUABLE!!! I'm an all weathers person & clumsy to boot so after upgrading to iPhone 5 it was more or less a no brainer as to what waterproofing case to get for it. Admittedly I did briefly check out other brands & reviews but ended up disappointed with them. I don't make regular phone calls so the noise/vibrations etc that others have complained of is neither apparent or important enough to me. What is paramount is keeping my phone dry & in one piece & my experiences tell me that I've chosen the right case for me. The headphone screw now comes attached to the case so no more trying not to loose it. The only thing difficult to do is separating the case but I'd very worried if it wasn't difficult! A couple of coins to wedge & slide does the trick but it's best not to be doing this regularly as you'll end up compromising the life span of the seal. The second case I have for my 4s has still got plenty of life in it & has now been past on to my eldest child along with the phone (for a small price, has to learn the cost of things).

Phone still works after multiple cars ran over it!
The case in honestly amazing!!! I was stupid enough to leave my phone on the roof of my car whilst putting my bags and coat into it. I drove off down the motor way and I heard something 'hit my roof' I then remembered that I had left my phone up there!! At least 15 cars must have driven over my phone... and I really did think that my iphone was going to be in 1000 pieces. The screen was totally smashed up but surprisingly enough the phone actually still worked! I connected it to my itunes and i was able to retrieve all my info off of it! I can guarantee you that no other case would have been able to have kept my phone in a condition that it still works. So all I need to do now is get my screen fixed :D

An all round protector of smartphones from a number of all too common hazards
This case is ideal for those who wish to protect their phone from a variety of types of damage without having a huge, heavy, cumbersome case. This is a genuine LifeProof case which can withstand depths of water up to 2M (6.6ft) and drops from the same distances. The case's sealed characteristics mean that it is also completely dirt, dust and snow proof. So regardless of weather you're going on holiday and you're partial to forgetting that your phone is in your pocket before going for a dip in the pool or you are just prone to dropping your phone this is the ideal case for you. The only disadvantages of this case are that the screen cover to me seems rather flimsy and that you require an adapter (Provided with the phone) to use the audio jack for headphones and earphones

Good waterproof protection with minimal bulk.
Works well, fits my iPhone 5 well and provides waterproof protection with minimal bulk. Screen sensitivity behind the cover is not a problem. A little bit expensive when compared to what appear identical copies but I preferred to buy known quality rather than hazard my iPhone. For some reason the blue one which I bought for much cheaper than the black ones, but the blue is a very dark blue, so not a problem for me. This is my second LifeProof case, but only because I was replacing a previous iPhone 4S.

this is a great case. Feels sturdy
As far as protecting the phone from drops and bumps go, this is a great case. Feels sturdy, I like the look also. But this case is not waterproof, at least mine wasn't. Water resistant is a better description - I can use it in the rain, which is useful for me as I cycle and use my phone as a navigator. If I had bought this directly from LifeProof I could have claimed a new one as part of a warranty agreement. However this yearly warranty is only availlable if you purchase directly from LifeProof. I am disappointed by the result because I was really excited to have a waterproof case. Sadly this didn't work out.
