Better and cheaper than coffee
As I have become older in age, I felt it became difficult to wake up energized and refreshed with just 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I rarely drank coffee before my 40's. When I say rare, I mean once or none a year. About a year ago, I tried coffee regularly in the mornings, however, it really did not give me a wake up boost, or if it did, it the feeling of alertness and energy lasted 30 minutes or so. Plus, coffee made me want to urinate due to the caffeine and volume of liquid intake. Also it stains the teeth. Therefore I decided to try the 5 hour energy. From day 1, it gave me the boost that I needed in the mornings. And it last for several hours, maybe not exactly 5, but the effects are longer lasting than coffee. It's simple to prepare. Just twist the cap off even with the wrapper in place and drink either the whole bottle or half. It's that quick. No boiling water, coffee filters, or waiting for the coffee to cool down. Half a bottle is enough for me in the early morning, then I save the rest for later during the day. The 5 hour energy also doubles as my pre-energy workout drink. It gives me the power boost I need to power through my workouts even with 5 or less hours of sleep.I mentioned in the title that the 5 hour energy is cheaper than coffee. First off all, buy it from Amazon using the subscribe and save program. If you buy the 12 pack between $19 and $22, ( the price seems to fluctuate monthly), it comes to less than $2 per bottle. If you buy it from a store, it will cost about $3 and up. That's why I prefer Amazon. Now, you really only need half a bottle to start. So, let's round that off to $1 for for one serving. And if you need to drink the rest later during the day, that's another $1. If you buy coffee, which most people do, that can cost anywhere from $1 and change to perhaps $2 or $3 or more!! That's just for the morning. Most people tend to need that second cup of coffee in the afternoon, so that's another $1 to $3. Plus coffee does not give you that big boost that the 5 hour energy gives. So, if you do the math, you can see that you get more for your money with the 5 hour energy than with coffee. As far as safety goes, I have been taking 5 hour energy on a daily basis for 7 months straight. I do not notice any ill effects. Of course I do not abuse it either. The instructions clearly state not to take more than 2 whole bottles daily. Just like drinking too much coffee daily. The extremely high amounts of vitamin B is flushed out because it is water soluble. The other ingredients like tyrosine and citicoline are for giving you a feeling of alertness. There is caffeine, about 180 milligrams per bottle. Use it, don't abuse it. That's the key to keeping it safe. If you are looking for an effective alternative for coffee, I highly recommend the 5 hour energy.I do not work for 5 hour energy or Amazon, so I have no stake in this review. It is completely unbiased. This is from my personal experience with this product that I want to share with others who are seeking an energy drink.

The commerials are true! Feel like working out for a change...
My friends think I am crazy when I rave about it, but my husband and kids know that this stuff has been life changing for me! For the past 15 years the only thing I drink 99.5% of the time is water because I prefer to eat my calories. :) But I see these 5 Hour Energy bottles EVERYWHERE, so I wondered what was the deal? Then I saw the tv commerial and figured I would at least try it, because I am an avid runner always trying to get my 5k time down, so how awesome would it be to FEEL like running rather than dragging myself to do intervals sometimes. I've been drinking it for the past 3 months and it has worked wonders for me! I'm telling everyone about it.I found for best results I drink half the bottle around 11am and the other half around 4pm usually after eating a snack or drinking a protien shake. This gets me through an tough afternoon workout, and once I get home from work I have the energy/motivation to cook, clean, do laundry, or whatever tasks I would normally just lay around and wish I had the energy to do. Even more amazing I can stay up about an hour later each night, but still wake up early, feeling refreshed and ready for a morning workout. I always drink some about 30 minutes before a race and usually before a hard workout.Cons....Well, I did find that if I drank it on an empty stomach I would get some pain in my right side. :) But I'm still sold on it! I sometimes just drink half a bottle all day and don't drink it on the weekends or on vacations because it's not good to be addicted to anything (but Jesus) :), and you don't want to get immune to it because you want it to work when you need it to plus it is kind of expensive...Honestly, I haven't found anyone else who loves it as much as I do, but I still say TRY IT!

nice engergy
on nights when I'm bleary and getting to bed late, or I have an early morning (ok, fine, lets just say, Every Evening) I put a 5 hour energy drink on my phone (aka my alarm clock) so that I have to move it to stop the screaming noise (me, waking up and hearing the alarm) if I'm feeling relatively awake and cognizant and aware of my situation, I move the drink to the side. If I've no idea what is going on, I drink the 5-hour energy drink.I do this because there are mornings when I am so tired and so out of touch that I will FORGET to drink the energy drink. Now, I don't know if it's a Pavlovian response or what, but just feeling the liquid go across my tongue immediately starts waking me up.At any rate, this doesn't make me all jittery and freaked out when I'm showering, convinced that someone is going to walk in on me, because there's no crazy levels of caffeine. And just for comparison, I recently found out that my husband (who claims that he needs less sleep than I do, and we go to bed at the same time) drinks 5-6 big mugs of coffee each morning. I don't drink any, even on days I don't have the 5 hour energy. So hopefully that tells you something right there.I will, occasionally, drink one in the eveneings, if I find that I have to meet up w/ my younger friends who want to go out to the bars. Not because I'm old, but because I'm not as young as them. but I drink it in the car, before I see them, so they dont' know.
