We got this to add an extra protective coating on our new kitchen table. I did not want to go through the hassle of putting more urethane on as we liked the finish as it is. This added a layer that helps protect our table. Its helped prevent markers, stain, etc from ruining the finish. I may have been over zealous in my application as parts of the table do feel a little waxy. I would not say this changed the color at all of what we applied it to. The table was a whitewashed country look. I'll probably apply a new layer to it about once a year.

I don't use a lot of paste wax, but I do use a little most years for small wood projects like gunstocks, oak toilet seats, antique saw handles and antique plane handles. I've been using an old can of Treewax dating back to the 1970s. It took me more than thirty years to use the entire can. I was apprehensive about buying a replacement can, as I thought probably the exact formula for my old wax had changed after all this time. I ended up ordering from Amazon three different cans of wax to experiment with. I ended up choosing the Chrystal Clear paste wax, which is pictured alongside my original 1970s exhausted can of Trewax. The Chrystal Clear has some unique properties that took some time to get used to, but now is working perfectly for me. This new Chrystal Clear is very, very fast drying. Apply the wax to the wood and wait too long to buff out and find that the wax is too hard to buff smooth. Remember that I'm not waxing large surfaces like wood floors. I can typically hold the wood in my left hand while waxing with my right hand. I've learned to apply the wax with a small square of cloth saturated with wax. I immediately start rubbing the soft wax into the wood with my palms and fingers until the wax ceases to feel slick and greasy and becomes a little stiff. This might take thirty seconds or so. At this precise point I grab a soft cloth and start buffing out. Buff too soon and we are simply removing the greasy soft wax. Buff too late and we can't eliminate the hard smears of wax. Timing is critical, but we constantly message the wood surface by hand so as to monitor the drying process.

As a hobby, I repair and work at restoring wood products. This Carnauba paste wax is remarkable. I have done several mother of pearl inlays into wood and as a final process used the Carnauba wax to seal, polish and protect the wood. On my Dads hunting rifle, the stock was out in the weather it had damaged and distorted the wood. I sanded the damaged area to restore the wood to its original shape and used the Carnauba wax to finish the are and blend into the original varnish at the grip. It dries and creates a beautiful finish on all my wood projects

Can't believe I've never used this brand before. Man have I been missing out? This stuff is fantastic. I put it on anything that I can, tools, counters, you name it. It's all waxed up baby. I love it. This is a great buy and I will definitely buy more once I run out.
