Not for PET Expandable Braided Sleeving
The item seems well built. I was able to attach the blade and heat it up without issue. It takes about 5 minutes to reach temperature. I checked the blade with a pair of pliers once hot, and it was still tight. I first tested with standard paracord. I had to go very slowly and apply heavy pressure but it was eventually able to cut through. It took probably 10 seconds. The cut was clean and the ends of the cord were properly melted. I next tested the main reason for me getting this. PET Expandable Braided Sleeving. This thing wouldn't even touch it. Laying the blade on top with heavy pressure didn't do anything. I tried slowly cutting with it like I would a regular knife. It was able to cut a few strands but they frayed everywhere. The heat played no part. I was eventually able to cut the sleeving after over a minute. The sleeving was completely frayed and not usable. Overall it was ok for paracord and NOT recommended for PET Expandable Braided Sleeving. This is most likely not a fault of the product. It is only 25w and I suspect I will need something much hotter to tackle the sleeving.

Cuts through hard plastic
The plastic nut and bolt set which anchors the toilet seat somehow got fused together. I tried wd-40 specialist solution but because it was fused, didn’t loosen up. I tried sawing chunks off with my steak knife. It worked somewhat, but id be there till Christmas. I needed a faster solution. The awkward angle under the side of toilet made it impossible to get a hacksaw or anything bulky in that space. So I figured why not use a hot knife. It worked! Instructions say let the knife do the work and don’t force. I admittedly didn’t follow that rule to a tee. I did do a cutting motion on the pieces. It took about an hour or so, with cramping and pain in my knees. But I powered through and the bolt broke free. I was able to remove those pesky pieces and replace them. The con is that the knife gets so hot it smells like fire and whatever it burns through will leave dark burn marks on the blade. The cord is only 2.5 ft short the most. All in all, it did the job and I’m at this price point, I’ll keep it in my tool arsenal. The pics show what the nut and bolt should look like, versus it fused onto the toilet, and the end result.

Worked for my purpose but
It worked for my purpose but as one review pointed out only the back end of the knife gets hot enough to do anything and that makes it more difficult to use. I used this to cut large holes in plastic lids and with some patience and going slow I was able to make my holes. The were rough and I'll have to sand them to smooth them out but I still got my hole made. This would be loads better if the whole knife heated. ALSO BE CAREFUL because the handle gets pretty warm too and that really makes it more dangerous. I'll use it for the next two holes I gotta make and be done with it so for the price it's good. But if you want something for the long run look elsewhere

Great HotKnife for Mounting Rubber Stamps on Cling Foam
I'm a complete novice when it comes to converting rubber stamps to cling foam mounted stamps. After much research I chose to purchase this HotKnife based on reviews and cost. I also watched some YouTube videos using this particular model. All that research has paid off because I love this tool! It heats up quickly. I would say in less than three minutes even though the instructions say to wait five. It slices through the EZ mount cling foam like butter. I've used it on some pretty complicated rubber stamps that have a lot of twists and turns. After doing 40+ stamps I've yet to mess up a single one! It's that easy to use. I will say the stand is a little wonky and I've managed to knock it over a lot. It's probably just a little too light for the weight of the HotKnife. But that is literally my only complaint about this tool. It has a couple of extra blades so I'm set for awhile. From what I've seen it's pretty easy to find replacement blades. I did notice that in the questions there was some speculation as to whether the HotKnife would cut through the red rubber that many of the older rubber stamps are made with and some of the new ones too. I'm happy to report that I had no problem with that, and I highly recommend using this HotKnife if you are converting your rubber stamps or creating new cling foam mounted stamps. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase and I would definitely buy this again if I had to do over.

Should give a warning that this does not work in 230v countries, could actually pose a fire hazard, very dangerous.

We bought the hot knife in April and didn’t use it until recently to trim the bleaching trays. The handle got heated very hot instantly and the tip melted/ broke after the first go

Very hot. Very sharp. I needed total concentration to stop injuring myself. Worked outside to not poison my pets. Turned dollar tree plastic organizers into custom made collectables displays. Slanting to show off Pyrex lids and vintage teabag holders. Just perfect.

Power is 110V. Not compatible with 220V countries. I didn't check the voltage and mine burned in a minute. The seller should include this in the description.
