It Works Well With Air Conditioning
I was staying very cool with this blowing while my air conditioner was working. My air conditioning broke down so now when I use it, I keep it blowing steadily at me to stay cool and don't use the oscillation setting. I also use this overnight and I stay cool enough to sleep comfortably. This isn't an air conditioner, but it is far better than the average table fan. I like it because it has 8 speed settings, a timer to turn it off automatically, and it shows the room temperature. I would rather use it with the air conditioner going, but I am satisfied with how cool it keeps me overnight.

Nice fan.
I purchased this to replace a original "Sharper Image"tower fan I have had for years. This one is a little smaller and it's vent size but it moves air well. This thing is whisper quiet even on the high setting, thermostat and timer works like a charm.Great replacement .

Broke in 3 days of use, horrible buy!
I bought this fan for solely based on the reviews and claims of it being quiet. I have to admit, it was the first two nights when it came out of the box. On the 3rd night use the fan starting making a clunking noise when oscillating. The noise is annoying and loud - making the fan quite audible and difficult to use when sleeping. I can not have it oscillate when sleeping since the noise is too loud to tolerate. I called Honeywell and of course it's still covered under warranty but they do not pay for shipping to them on the product. It will cost me about $15 to ship the fan back to them, almost 25% of what I paid for the fan. This, of course, makes it absolutely not worth while and this fan will no longer be the quiet bedroom fan, but rather the noisy living room fan.Overall, the fan worked great when it worked but within 3 days the fan broke. I've always spent money on good fans such as sharper image, dyson, etc. My last nice fan finally died so I decided to try the lower end honeywell and that was a mistake. You truly get what you pay for in this world and I would rather save the money and buy a nicer fan than buy this again.Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT buy this fan.

Poor Quality
We purchased a second Quietset 8 tower fan to be used in our bedroom but it's not as good as the one we have from 5 years ago made by Honeywell. This one is made with about 1/3 less plastic - the base is hollow. It is not as quiet as our older fan which is made much better by Honeywell. Honeywell, what happened to your quality ? The fan in the new ones are not as quiet. I have had to return one already since the lowest speed was no longer quiet after a couple days of use. Bring back the quality. Live up to your good name in the market. I want one for my kitchen but will not purchase another one of these right now.

Looks good but has a flaw
This fan looks good however I dont like that it turns off it the temp in the room hits a certain temp. We would set the lowest temp on the fan and it will adjust it self based on the temp of room.

Moves a lot of Air Some Assembly Problems
So I saw that this fan had a lot of bad reviews from the other comments I read here. I was really uneasy about buying this fan until I saw another seller that was selling a fan for $100. The Fan here was $60. So there is a $40 difference. Both fans from Both sites looked exactly alike. I could not tell the difference at all. Could not figure out why the price had such a difference between the two sites. I made sure that the cheaper fan was NOT refurbished or stated so on the website somewhere as I suspected was the reason for the cheaper price. I could not find any evidence of it. I finally decided to risk it and buy the fan from $60 and save myself $40 dollars in the process, while at the same time hoping it wouldn't bite me later down the road. I finally got my fan in yesterday. The packaging was good and it seemed to be well protected. When I opened the box, I realized that the stand they sent me was the wrong one. The round base was good but the narrow part that connects the round base to the actual fan both halves from the same side and you could not connect them together. Luckily, the Tower Fan did not need the middle part to connect to the base. I think that narrow middle part was just there to ad height if needed. The fan itself is running pretty smooth. It moves alot of air and keeps the room cool. So it does exactly what it was intended for with out any issues. Now as far as how long it lasts, I can't comment on that as I have only had it for one day. Another commenter brought up the point about the fuse being the culprit when some of these fans quit working.

Not quiet enough
I was very disappointed. Of course this fan is quiet on low but I need a fan that is quieter on high. Every fan is quiet on low. This one is as noisy as a regular floor fan I hoped to replace it with. Wish I had not bought it. Maybe there is no such thing as a fan that is quiet on higher speeds.
