Security for my mom's
My mom lives in a pretty small neighboorhood, though it is close to a few highschools. Every year when school gets out it seems like the neighborhoods around there get small break-ins, nothing major. Her house had her window broken into, stole small amount of money and that's it. I purchased these for her to place around the outside of her house, and the back garage. They look real from a distance, but I think when you're really close to them, they look basic. We hung our high. The stickers were a nice touch. The only thing I would add to these is a battery for a red LED light. I had a camera as a kid that had 2 AA batteries that actually moved when it sensed motion... battery lasted over a year. I also recommend drilling a hole in the base of the mount, to feed the fake cord through on these, to make it look like the cord is being wired into the house. The fake cord as packaged (at least in mine) was just hanging off the camera.

It's sad how folks have to take from anyone
Looks very real. Have not been able to put up yet which is a shame because just had a $250 weed eater I just bought and only got to use once stolen from me & it's not the first one to be stolen from me, the last one never even got to use yet. It's sad how folks have to take from anyone. I'm disabled raising my children off my $734 income. And everything I do to support them is on credit cards,so that I don't ask for help from anyone, And because I do my mine people feel I have money, so they feel they can just take from me and it wouldn't be a big deal. My son used it before I was able to write Serial numbers down so that hurts. Anyway got this to protect our pets who neighbor kids were stoning with large bricks, as well as other property. Just wish I was able to get them up in time to do it's job.

Bought these before DESIGN CHANGE.
I got a set of these a few months ago and they are great. I came back to order more but they have changed the design! The older ones were actual casings from real cameras. This new design looks incredibly fake and too "plasticky". Also, how many real cameras have the cheesy flashing red light? Almost none. If you do buy these, at least don't put in batteries for the light to flash...that's a dead giveaway that they are fake cameras. Unfortunately I will have to find another brand that isn't so obviously fake.Side note...a little trick I like to do is to label my FOUR cameras 1, 4, 7, 9 etc...if someone is sniffing around and they can only find four, they will expect that the others have to be somewhere that they can't find.

Dummy security for dummy crooks
I agree w/ what someone said earlier. They look somewhat fake on close inspection. Made of very cheap plastic. But if you're a thief, I don't think you're going to go all touchy feely on the cameras. I also took the advice of one of the other reviews, and labelled my cameras 1, 4, 7 and 9. hehehe.... the light isn't a steady blink, it -seems- to be motion activated, but I'm not sure. It sometimes just seems to have a mind of its own. Here is my biggest complaint: the stickersThe blasted stickers, which have at the bottom a link to videosecu.com, where you can go and find this camera, CLEARLY LABELLED as a dummy camera! I mean, really??! Why would you put up a security sticker w/ a website you can go to and see that your camera IS A FAKE?!? Luckily for me, I obtained some REAL security stickers from a local security business and used them instead. If you're looking for simulated security, these cameras will do the job. But you can find better.

Lame, cheesy, not convincing
Two stars (just barely) because they don't cost that much and may look sort of like video cameras to the stupidest of criminals. Body is of cheap, brittle, shiny plastic unlike any real cameras I have owned or seen. 2-axis detented angle adjustments are extremely coarse so it's unlikely that you will get them pointed exactly where you want them to point. Even if you are ultra-careful in tightening the screws, you will probably break the cheap plastic clamp mechanism in the angle adjustments (I did, on the last camera that I put up). If you do, don't worry, just fill the joint with hot melt glue which is more secure than the crappy plastic that the camera is made out of. The cameras are also pretty small (camera body about 5" long by 2" diameter) so if you mount them high enough to conceal the fake-ness a bit, they probably won't be noticed at all.Oh and the only one that I bothered trying the LED feature on -- it didn't work at all. Batteries installed, took it into a dark closet, waited a minute, nothing. There is a button to turn it on and off (no way to tell ON or OFF) and I tried pushing the button several times, still nothing. Wasn't terribly surprised. Some day I'll pop it open and see if there is even any circuitry inside -- wouldn't doubt it if there is none.

I love these dummy cameras
I love these dummy cameras! They look very convincing once you have it installed at key locations and pointing in the right direction. The light sensor work well, when night mode is on, the red led flashes every few seconds, I can see them staring at me when i pull into the driveway lol. Gives you this "you're being watched" creepy feeling :)What I like is that no wires are showing, some other cameras, whether real or fake, have a little wire sticking out and that makes it easier for perks to "cut the wire" unless you have it set up in a place that's not easy to access of course. Definitely recommend these.

Dummy Security Camera
I chose the four pack cameras with the blinking infra red light for our neighborhood swimming pool. The fake cameras work fine and I hope they will help to eliminate the vandalism that has occured at the pool. I like the realism of these units and they were very easy to install. I do however think that the motion sensing red light should activate within a larger range, as you have to be very close to them (like 3 to 4 feet) before they will start blinking. I would recommend this item.
